It's time to analyse everything again.

So we have two characters here.
One is the beaniewoman that we know from t1i and the OTT calls her Ms Frizzle.
And there is a new character.
Looks like a standard GLR stickfigure, but with glasses.
"I did my doctorate in physics."
This is an important information.
Together with knowing that phys is presented by S&S (Sustainabilizer & SilentTimer) Productio:ngs it suggests that this glasses guy could be the representation of Sustainabilizer.

Hmm, a glasses wearing guy TaT character that is the representation of the author of the TaT, that seems familiar...

How will the OTT call this new character?
The bftf character in similar situation was called "square glasses guy" or "b".
Since this could be the representation of one of the S&S will the ott call him "S", analogically?
I wonder what the ott will come up with.

After the "my hobby" front page the story started in Beanish.
But what looked like a beginning of a Beanish story continues now with English dialogue.
Ms Frizzle learned English so well?
Possible, after Cueganpeople moved to beanieland as indicated in the end of t1i.

Or maybe the story continues in Beanish but it's shown to us in English so that we know what is said?
Just like the Cuegan language in Time is shown as English to us.
Similarly, in bftf, not all text written in English was actually said in English.
So why is the first frame Beanish?
Maybe because it was said outside the frame and phys doesn't translate out of frame text?

Also, wait, does it mean that the representation of Sustainabilizer speaks Beanish?
So it seems that maybe just the first frame is Beanish after all.

But still, The Sustainabilizer representation and Ms Frizzle in the same frame?
They are from different times.
What's going on? Time travel?
Or maybe this story is supposed to be more symbolic and the anachronism is irrelevant.

Or, maybe, this is not the real Ms Frizzle at all?
Maybe, similarly like the glasses guy could be the representation of Sustainabilizer, Ms Frizzle could be the representation of SilentTimer?
It's not that unlikely, SilentTimer signed some of their posts with this: Image

including but not limited to
the new phys story

(also, can anyone recognise the things from the first page of phys which I did not recognise? I have no idea what the beard guy is holding.)

Greetings from NP2547, which begins with me talking about avatars with Sciscitor. Probably for the OTTermap popups. I wonder how crufty that codebase is now, but hey, it still works.

A mr*bdex story fragment. I had finally forgotten about those. And it too seems to have forgotten about making progress. A story about time travel(ing Dragons) stuck in its own red forest.

Ah, the Chronicles of Torgos! I remember this one, if hazily. Need to refresh it. And BSTA. And AotC. And the other stuff I've seen coming down the pipe. And rewatch BFTF too. And...

mrob, is phys this Third Journey you speak of?

ED says he's got no avatar at the moment, then a couple of posts later shows up with his current one. Have we run out of Time, and I'm writing to a snapshot? Would that one be "and I am", or "and am I"?

addams! How are you doing these days? How is Lucille?
Some days are cloudy and cold over here.
Others are sunny and less cold.
This is one of these days.

I've added The Cloisters to my travel list, by the way.

NP2548. By coincidence, Der Berg by Unheilig has just started playing. We seem to be picking up steam.

think says *<acc> is not really into Pokémon. I'm sure I just read something similar in the mr*bdex story.

It hadn't struck me before how similar my and Gingercat's weather are.

---

NP2549. The Object Catalogue reminds me of something from Kieryn's comics. And now we've learned botm's origin story. Well, part of it.

ggh, that 300 cake for Gingercat is so apropos :D And those Time-travel shenanigans... there's something there. Maybe if we combine it with your manip that was posted just after...

I like that poem about Love, addams. Thanks for bringing it.
Might repurpose it for someone else later on.

Someday I'll find reason to return "303 See OTTer" in an application :P

Pl. reched the summit now, see y'all again soon.

Hi, Aluisio!

Good to read from you again.

I've returned from my journey, but as often happens with traveling, things have become less organized while I was gone. Unfortunately, part of what became less organized, was my organized sand.

Oh, Poor Lucille,
Thank you for asking.
She had a rough Time of it.

She is back up on her wheels and faithfully doing her job, again.
Spoiler:
She spent three weeks looking a lot like a bug on its side.

She sat there with one wheel up in the air so long her battery went dead.
Finely, help arrived! Her shoe was easily fixed by a professional. (phew)

There is nothing wrong with her brakes.
She simply stepped on a nail and limped.
As for me.
well...
Spoiler:
I was told, "We might be able to get you two years."
That was Three Years ago!

I take a lot of pills and I have a low activity level.
Yet,...Against all odds, I am still typing.

I've moved out of the Forest.
I still have outdoor space, flowers pouring out of their pots and a flock of cute quarreling HummingBirds.

How am I?
Content, enough, I suppose.
My apartment is warm, unlike my Forest Box.

Oh!
I don't know Why I told you about The Cloisters.
But, I am glad I did. I hope you do go out there.

Did I tell you?
From the The Cloisters you can sit on a European style rock wall and look down
at the skyscrapers of New York's financial district, like Toys in the distance.

When/If you go, please tell us.
Directions:
Spoiler:
Take the subway as far North as it will go.
Then walk North to what looks like a park.

Start climbing.
At every turn, take the Up.

Soon you will have walked Up into Europe.
Most of the buildings and their contents were Gifts from Europeans to the U.S.
Each a treasure. Each a manifestation of both fine craftsmanship and goodwill.
Oh! Oh!
As long as you are in New York:
Spoiler:
The Asian Society is eleven blocks from the Metropolitan Museum of Fine Arts.
They have a room with One and Only One piece of Art in it. It deserves its own room.

It is hands down and by far the very best Ganesha, I have ever seen.

There are of course two beard guys.
The beard guy in the upper-right is holding motorcycle handlebars (one of which has a mirror?) attached to a small Earth with a vertical axle through the centre. I suppose this refers to moment of inertia, i.e. rotational inertia, the thing that makes motorcycles stay vertical when the wheels are turning, and the thing that makes the Earth's axis keep pointing the same way; but the Earth's axis gets steered because the tidal forces on the equatorial bulge impart torque that makes the axis precess.
The beard guy in the approximate centre of the image has genus-1 branes (or 2-d manifolds embedded in 3-d space) that are linked in a daisy chain. I tried Googling various combinations of that but couldn't find an image of anything resembling this chain.

Yes, the mr*bdex story is too slow. Sorry.

So we have kind-of of a computer text-with-graphic adventure here.

There are multiple levels of narration: the story, stories inside the story, the action between the reader and the adventure hotdog, and even the other side of the story.

There is interaction between the reader (player?) and the setup of the story itself (e.g. frame 14: “Put ARMs into your inventory or however it's called”, or frame 20: “Congratulations, you successfully completed your first task as the new guy.”). The confusion of the reader is an integral part of the story.

There is interaction between the reader (player?) and the figures in the story (hotdog?), e.g. when b is bored in frame 4 or complains about “this stupidity” in frame 7.

In addition there is the narrator, interacting with the reader, e.g. in frame 9, “You also wonder if this will continue getting meta.” or in frame 11, “You're getting confused by all this. Better get used to this since you're going to be this guy really soon. Actually, you start being him right now!”

The reader is part of the story, just like the persons in the story, the persons in the stories in the story, and the author in the other side of the story.

And there's even more: additional software such as coincidence and 2 words, additional media such as the whistling in frame 88 and kxa's piano music in frame 119, and more things (such as the autogenerated text in balthasar's signature) where we don't yet know how they are RELATED to BSTA.

There are repeatingredundant motives. For instance, b (frame 14) and kxa (frame 115) have different concepts of “ARMs”. We see several “NICE DROP!”s, all different.

There are several links to BFTF (CTIF, Object Generator, LEML, wheelstick, …).

How much of all this is real? There are insider jokes between b and his friends (e.g. “… and watch out for batmans.” frame 98) or how b (frame 80) and kxa (frame 131) go down stairs. These suggest that b, kxa and fth acutally exist and have a similar relationship in the real world as in BSTA.

There is a connection with the OTT, e.g. the Mustardis appearing in frame 199.

There is time travel. While the Mustardis appears only in a hotdog inside the story, b and kxa seem to travel through time when they cross the gate (frame 167: “Wasn't there just a hole in the ground?”). However it is not clear how different the levels really are. When b phones kxa it is not clear whether Joe (from a story inside the story) or kxa herself should pick up the phone (frame 145).

There are other weird technical things such as a computer which repairs itself when we wait for it (frame 50) or a ”CT card” (frame 54) and the TOIC protocol.

Conclusion:
  • I'm confused.
  • I'll continue to wait for it.

The batmans joke is explained here

Mustardis appearing in frame 199.
Actually, it appears one frame earlier.

(frame 167: “Wasn't there just a hole in the ground?”).
And not many frames later there IS a hole in the ground there.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work for me.
this
Use the mouse to draw in the large image area
does nothing. Also the init button does nothing. the picture is full of one color all the time. I opened the index.html in two browsers, Firefox and Chromium, on Debian 9.
Additionally If I scroll down the page it freezes my computer. The only thing I can do then is to move the mouse around because everything else no longer works (if I press the on off button it will turn off after some time. It's the second thing that works).
If I scroll down without javascript enabled then nothing bad happens and I can see
This simulation requires the GL extensions framebuffer_object and texture_float. If you cannot see the simulation your system probably lacks at least one of these extensions.
I'm not familiar with these things. Anyway the check in Chromium as suggested at the page bottom shows I have the framebuffer_object but not the texture_float.
Now to find out what it is and how to get it.

It is no longer possible to use the search on the OTT wiki without Javascript, which is not good.
