I like how it's just a massive spike which immediately dies down. All the readers search it once, never to search it again.

That is how learning usually works, yes... If they had to keep searching it repeatedly, now that would be a little weird.

Even if I didn't learn the first time, I wouldn't keep on googling the term every day after the comic first appeared. Webcomic strips aren't big enough to cause a lasting impact in trends: If you look something up, you're going to do it on the day you read the comic.
