Anyone manage to correctly answer the question as to which large language family is refered to on xkcd.com by "Let's make our language heavily inflected so future students have to memorize a zillion verb endings"?

When it gave as examples of languages within it
Spoiler:
Gujarati, Icelandic and Italian
, I immediately thought
Spoiler:
Indo-European
. From just what Bridiepie said I was fairly sure it was
Spoiler:
Indo-European
, but wasn't 100% sure. It wouldn't go for Semitic languages despite them being heavily inflected because they have vowel inflections instead of endings and it wouldn't go for many East Asian languages because they don't have many verb inflections at all but it does go for a few (many?) native American languages.
