alt text: You will be led to judgement like lambs to the slaughter--a simile whose existence, I might add, will not do your species any favors.

I dont think this could happen, but that could be the corporations controlling my head

Also, re; the alt text: I think "your will" is a mistake - anyone else with me on this?

This is just like a zombie invasion, right? So we can shoot them - I mean, it's not like they're real people, right?

This also is not comic 1004, rather 1013.

Sheeple (the zombie) looks like a cross between MewTwo and Scyther..

Hi joee. And Joel, apparently you have been greeted as well.

As soon as I saw this, I realized I've been waiting my entire internet life for it. This should be a movie.

Of course the "your will" in the mouseover text is a typo... also, I'm a bit urged to say that what is called a simile might actually be a metaphor. I'm sure that it's a simile, but I can't find anything on line to help me decide, because everything online is so elementary in their descriptions of and distinctions between metaphors and similes.

Also, the concept of this comic makes me think of "Catherine".

Weird. S + laughter = slaughter. Is that whence the expression, "slaying with laughter?" Anyway, s+hero = shero. SHERO - the hero with power shears, who will shear the sheeple and shend them back to shleep.

Definitely just a simile. like lambs to the slaughter. The comparison is explicit. Therefore, a simile.

"Judgement" is actually a Briticism which has somehow found its way into American dictionaries/spellchecks. The standardized American version of the word is "judgment."

Simile is a type of metaphor.

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want
He makes me down to lie, through pastures green he leadeth me the silent waters by
With bright knives he releaseth my soul; he maketh me to hang on hooks in high places; he converteth me to lamb cutlets
For lo, he hath great power and great hunger
When cometh the day we lowly ones, through quiet reflection and great dedication, master the art of karate
Lo, we shall rise up and then we'll make the bugger's eyes water

Now I'm going to have that ending riff stuck in my head all day. It's going to be great!

Simile is a type of metaphor.

I wonder if it's both; if the leading is a simile, but it implies a metaphor between the 'you' (humans) and the lambs.

I'm also wondering where stock trucks fit into this picture, but perhaps that's a New Zealander-ish question :-)

http://xkcd.com/762/ <- This would be a perfect answer to these questions. It's both a simile and an analogy.

That is kind of my train of thought as well. Seeing as I can't see a reason why it couldn't be both, I am definitely considering that a possibility.

This would actually be funny if it wasn't for the terrible last panel. THIS is why the comic needs an editor. Someone to go, 'look. do you really need that? do you really need to treat your readers like they're so stupid they haven't understood the first four panels? relax. They'll get it. And it'll be 10,000 times funnier if you don't explain the joke. Have confidence in them.' It's a shame because it's been ages since xkcd was amusing, and this one really could have been, but it had to go and ruin it by treating the audience like idiots.

ps anyone who asks 'am I weird' is automatically not weird. sorry. there are thousands of films about eldritch horrors awakening beneath the earth and rising up to destroy humanity.

edited because i regretted being mean. sorry.
