1327: "Mobile Marketing"

Title text: "We're firing you, but the online headline-writing division wants to hire you."

Too bad this idea would suffer greatly from diminishing returns.

I'm sure he has other tricks up his sleeve.

Fire him? How could they fire him? He's the best in the business!

Funniest comic in a while. That almost doesn't seem like a Black Hat Guy move though. It's more the sort of thing the dimwitted character in a TV cartoon would do, back when dimwitted characters in TV cartoons were more just the sort to not think things through and not straight-up monkeycheese lolrandumb.

Art imitates life?

Black Hat Guy is constrained only by his imagination.
Very Black Hat of him.

Today one million random cell phones receive a message in favor of the company.
Tomorrow 2 billion phones receive a message that entertains Black Hat.

Worried?

Exactly how does turning on the news relate to CNN?

Just kidding; CNN is a respectable news corporation, right? Right?

I'm not sure why it has taken me a good 7 or 8 years to realise that Black Hat Guy is Dogbert.

I think BHG is more of a mass craze person instead of screwing with one person. It was a funny comic though, as is the xkcd comic, although I noticed I'm getting used to the online headline jokes.

I feel they should have specified their aims better - they should have asked him to improve viewership long-term...

Can someone explain the point of the joke of putting the wrong strip number on this thread?

It also links to the previous strip (which threw me off when I was checking your claim).

Apologies, when I start these things I just copy the post content from one of the other threads and change all the numbers because I'm lazy. I missed changing the comic link and strip number this time :P They're fixed now.

Buy BHG did it for the joy of sowing fear and confusion, not because he actually thought it would accomplish what they wanted.

Look what you wrote.
Sowing Fear and confusion.

Terrorist? Is our beloved Black Hat Guy a Terrorist?
Darn. I like that guy. Yes. He seems to be 'scary smart'.

But; He is only a stick figure!
Don't tell. ok.

Fear and Confusion?
Don't look at Black Hat Guy,
Look at TV News.

I don't think that's really confusing, false or misleading maybe, but not confusing. The overall message is mostly: people do horrible things, horrible disasters happen, your life's great.

Dogbert sold the DSN (Dogbert Static Network)...

There's also what he's going to do with the proceeds.

What is this sudden obsession with this Dilbert comic? Did we change to a dilbert forum? (I'm not complaining, just wondering what's happening).

Business Majors know stuff, too.
Some of their stuff is funny.

!When Observed From The OutSide!
***!Office Politics is Horrible!***

How is Black Hat Guy doing?
Is he good at Office Politics?

Or; Does his Strange Charm pick up
where his intellect frightens people?

Have you ever known a person like that?
I have.

Spoiler:
I wonder what he will do next.
Other people are interesting, too.

How about Rejection Guy.
What is he up to?

Rejection Guy, hires Black Hat Guy?
There is a Partnership either born in Hell
or destined for Hell.

The type to take us all with them?
No? Selected Targets? Who's Safe?

If you can do it to One;
You can do it to Many.

So, funny.
Grab Black Hat Guy and Hang On!

Why?
If he is in the center, that is the safest place to be.

Don't run away from the light.
Disorder increases as distance increases.

What a Horrible Game:
Walk into a Room.
The First Person to light a Match,
might live.

Everyone else perishes.
Physics has rules.
Life is, just, an exchange of electrons; It is up to us to give it meaning.

I think I'm to blame. I just mentioned that there are distinct similarities between the megalomanic sadist character Dogbert who seems to bend the world at large to his every whim, and the extremely chaotic, eccentric nature of Black Hat Guy.
