Cueball is a-rookUNG:

For decree:
Spoiler:
There's a chain of storecastles that's going out of business, and I was waiting in a line to pay. A woman's item had no barcode, and the cashier and the other staff were having a hard time finding the price (because the stocking system's gone all to mustard in the closeout, and the organized sand system couldn't identify the item). The woman didn't take it well and made unmolpish mutterings that everyone in line could hear, including the poor cashier, who had to keep tagging keys to keep her aisle's organized sand awake during the search.

Anyway, the unmolpish woman eventually stormed out with the item, and I was next in line. I kept my mood pleasant for the cashier, and we shared a laugh about the mustarded system, and hopefully I helped make her day a bit more molpish after that other customer.

There have been two new phys frames, ONGed one hour apart. The first of these is very strange, and animated. And it is numbered out of sequence (84a), and being ignored by the ONG system.

Blitzed through all the phys OTTercomic frames to see if there were any other additional out-of-sequence frames that we might have missed. I found exactly one, 71a, but it oddly seems to have been onged at the same time as 84a (and not between 71 and 72 at all), and seems to be taken out of some larger context which seems to be missing:

Oh, right, so it's two bicycles going parallel, yet still colliding because of curved space-time. :)

As you probably know, in the viewer for every phys frame there is a link "bbcode". If you click on that, after the bbcode for the frame there is another link "spoiler". If you click on that, you get also the bbcode for the spoiler and, on the page for the latest frame, a link "ONG this for me". When I wrote my previous post I thought that that link is present if and only if that page hasn't been posted on the OTT yet, but now I see that this is not the case, it is simply there on the page for the latest frame.

Nevertheless, the pages for the phys OTTercomic in the viewer also have a link "Additional information" which I don't remember seeing before today, but I am unsure if maybe it was there earlier too and I just haven't been paying attention to it. Anyway, that link definitely is currently missing on the pages for the frames 84a and 71a. On the other pages, apparently this additional information contains, among other things, a link to the OTT post where the frame was ONGed. On most pages, going by those I've inspected so far, the link anchor text is [OTT:] "this frame and discussion", but sometimes only "this frame". On the page for frame 85, the anchor text is "this frame and discussion, including frame 84a". On the page for frame 71, we have three links with the combined anchor text "this frame and discussion, RELATED science, and frame 71a and discussion". On the one for frame 72, we have "this frame, thorough discussion, more science, and frame 71a and discussion".

I conclude that the additional information is not provided automatically, but by someone observing the OTT, probably someone from the author team.

Traditionally, the TaT frames were posted like this:

custom ong text
[ url = the viewer page ] [ img ] the frame [ /img ] [ /url ]
[ spoiler ] alt test [ /spoiler ]

I added to the viewer the option to generate BBcode for posting the frame this way.
So for every frame there is a link "[bbcode]". Clicking it generates the bbcode but without the spoiler alt text.
Because sometimes you don't want the spoiler. But then another link is available "[spoiler]" which gives you full bbcode, with the spoiler included.
But it could be that even if you have the full text but still don't want to post it by yourself.
So there is the link (actually a form disguised as a link, check the html) "[ONG this for me]".
If you click the link the bot will post this to the OTT.

The link appears for the current frame of an ongoing story (currently phys).
It doesn't depend on the frame being posted to the OTT.
The viewer doesn't even know if the frame was posted or not.

But the bot can know it.
If the bot posts the frame, it will refuse to do it if you click this again.
And even if it is the first time, it will check the ott if the frame is already there.

The "Additional information" is another thing.
It is not automatic.
There is an interface where the author (or whoever knows the password) can upload an bbcode post to a frame on the viewer.
It is possible to to have more than one post for one frame.

Not only phys has it.
Other stories have it too but under different names:
(Stories like BSTA or The Advent use a different mechanism for the text under the frame, which doesn't require clicking any link and has some other differences)

The "Additional information" was not available from the beginning.
They started appearing some time ago.

It is not possible to add an "Additional information" to frames like 84a or 71a.
The system supports only normal frame numbers.
But it shouldn't be very difficult to change it so I think I will do it.

The special frame numbers like 71a.
They were added to be able to show the meteor frames.
That was the only reason for this.
They were not supposed to be onged.
But what has happened cannot unhappen.
After this thing was created it became more important.

Actually, it is still not possible to ong new meteor frames.
But it is possible to tell the system that they have always been there.
And then use the demustarding feature to re-upload the frames.
But the "re-upoad" actually becomes the first upload.
(The time you see under the frame is when this frame was uploaded for the first time)
It is possible to insert meteor frames between existing frames.
And it is possible to insert meteor frames just after the last frame but the viewer won't link to them until a normal frame is onged after them.

Oh, no.
I today I mentioned the interface to upload the "Additional information".
Actually, there are two redundant interfaces.
Today, when looking at it, how to support meteor frame numbers,
I noticed a serious design mistake in access control in one of these two.
Misused, it could allow someone to upload a post with the wrong password.
(But at least it will not allow to overwrite a correct post)
:/
I have to find a solution now, which doesn't mean a big redesign of everything...
(This mistake is there since 2015)
ETA: solved.
ETAA: And I added the possibility to upload additional informations to meteor frames.

I don't think I would mind as much if Megan wasn't standing so awkwardly behind them. Really, only Cueball is necessary for the Othercomic joke, so I'm not sure why the other two characters are there.

There is no escape from the Megcueganball. Or maybe it's a Cuemegballgan?

Anyway, I'm pretty sure it has looping tendencies and there is thus no escape. Also, it can probably outrun two-legged people fairly easily.
