I think he knows and this was just a rhetorical question, because supposedly whoever bessie RB-d can't be the killer.
In related news, mpolo claiming that bessie visited him might be another nail in his coffin because it will be suspicious that he got a result despite being rb-d.

Just a note will be travelling next week or so. Shouldn't effect playing too much.

Targeting decision?

I don't think I've mentioned this but I'm a doctor with the additional benefit of getting confirmation of protection through the flavour of the elimination. (Which is why I'm thinking 3-1-1 over 4-1)

assuming a wam lynch:
Wam scum
A 4-1 game over: win
B 3-1-1: one scum left in Laser, Diemo and Somi
wam town
C 4-1: one scum left in Laser, Diemo and Somi
D 3-1-1: two scum in Laser, Diemo and Somi

A is irrelevant for targeting
B and C are equivalent, leaving one scum among my three competitors
I'm not sure my power is much use in that scenario?
We'll be plytho-town-town-scum.
Two possibilities:
Successful protect: D2 has plytho-conftown-town-scum
failed protect: D2 has plytho-town-scum (+eliminated conf town)
In both cases I still need to deduce who's scum from two candidates.
I don't really see diemo or somi targeting the other. Leaving Laser and me around and eliminating the scummier player is very risky.
So if either of them flips I might consider LaserGuy. Although that's all wine, I guess.

I was considering protecting Somi to be able to deduce that LaserGuy targeted him if I do protect. But I'm really strongly townreading Laser.
So maybe getting him confirmed through protection doesn't add that much in and of itself, Laser might have a result I can trust if I successfully save him.

So yeah, LaserGuy is a good target for protection in B and C.

Same goes for D, I think. We're in big trouble in D and I basically need to block both eliminations for us to have a chance and I definitely don't expect two eliminations on somi or diemo.

I'm probably as big a candidate for the elimination as Laser so none of this might matter. I kind of like wam's vote in that regard. Other scum might think I'm lyncheable tomorrow.

Hmm, just realized wam's claim involves a type of elimination. Could he be a townie with an elimination power? Does that even make sense in a 5 player game?

Eta: somi is sounding very sheepy. I like my story for Diemo better though.

Ah, it's all so clear now. Zenii used his messaging power to somehow convince mpolo that he was a partner with mpolo. Mpolo pulls the trigger which is apparently unblockable.

Now, to get Mark to vote mpolo the best plan is to make Mark comfortable that I'm not trying to trick anyone. But if I trick mpolo into revealing more that will help convince Mark that mpolo is scum. So, let's prod just a tiny bit before the reveal...

If I hadn't been so sash greedy we would have lynched mpolo yesterDay and roleblocker the clearly not-strongman Vic.

Pretty sure wam was the way to go but keeping my vote on him was useless. No way get a vote off with one vote.

If diemo is convincing and moves to wam I may still move back.
Wam's power makes sense for a second scum. They only need one successful elimination N2 to win.
Ugh.

Hmm, defeatist diemo? That's good right? That's not townie. He has posts left.

Somi should pay attention. LaserGuy and me have one post left and we're not using it to answer questions.

Wow, amazing save by Diemo. I thought for sure that the lynch vote off was going to fall onto him. Boldly voting for the most unvotable candidate. "Scum would never do that."

Also, I want to note that I never even considered 3-1-1 in my setup plan. Only 4-1 and 3-2. 3-1-1 feels so random.

Just as a reminder, Christmas Knight (aka Secret Santa 2018) is in sign-ups. It would be great to get a few more players. If you haven't yet sent in a role, I'd appreciate it if you can try to get it in as soon as possible, so that dimochka and I can start working on set-up and balance.

I've got another idea for a game if Golden Gun goes well:

Plutocracy (aka Mo' Money Mo' Mafia)
* Players start with a pile of meta-game cash and a variety of money-making meta-game powers.
* Everything is for sale:
* 1-shot standard powers (doctor, vig, tracker, etc) of all sorts; yours for the taking every day if you've got the dough and the desire!
* Pay to Play. If you're broke at Dawn or Dusk, you're out.
* Vote with your wallet. $1/vote: Vote early, Vote often!
* Rampant Capitalism. Buyer Beware. NO REFUNDS.

That actually sounds similar to a game I was debating last night. Was thinking fallout themed and power ups able to be bought with a pyp element.

We could combine to run it if you want? And if people are interested.

That sounds hard to balance, but should be fun. There have been several games with "buy your powers with energy/hp" in the past. They usually get insanely complicated, so I'd try to keep things very simple aside from the basic weirdness.

Looks interesting. I'll see if I can steal some ideas.

One of the big differences would be that Plutocracy would involve dynamic powers between turns; paying every day for a doctor to protect someone of your choice that night, rather than buying a medical degree during game setup. Prices would vary day to day with supply and demand as well.

The only part I'm still concerned about is bid sniping, but I think that can be resolved fairly by buying off the vote (at dusk, auto pay $1 for a negative vote on yourself until someone else is lynched or the votes are all zeroed (or you go broke of course) ).
The cost to the top voted player would be the same as if they'd spent those funds voting for the 2nd place to save themselves. It does potentially cause any 3rd/4th/etc votals to have to pay up to prevent a lynch, but that should generally be chump change compared to the main vote.

Wait, that is getting very confusing. I think I need an example. Are people getting multiple simultaneous votes with money? Because if so then money really is Hit Points and almost no powers will be worth buying.

Copping mpolo wasn't a bad call, but you were reading him as likely indy, so maybe with the way your power works he wasn't the best choice actually. I think an important consideration in choosing a cop target is to say, "if this person comes back as "not mafia" am I going to want to lynch them anyway?" If yes, then don't bother. (Yes this message is actually about me being copped then still treated with suspicion)

Money would be hitpoints, yes. The revenue from buying powers would go back into the town however, so buying powers wouldn't be obviously bad, just personally expensive.

The way I see it going in my head:
Eve: Vote $50 on Bob!
Bob: Hey, so I'm the town doctor, and I wasted too much of my money on voting Boomfrog yesterday. Can somebody buy a doctorin' from me today, or at least lend me a few bucks?
Alice: Sure, you're pretty townie, and I might as well get some use out of the money tonight. Buy Doctor. Also, Vote $70 on Eve, since trying to off the doctor is pretty scummy.

-EOD-
Bob had $30, gained $50 for doctor sales, cash at dusk=$80
Eve had $115, spent $50 on votes, cash at dusk=$65.
Alice had $250, spent $50 on doctor + $70 on votes, cash at dusk = $130

Votals: ($70 E / $50 B / $2 Others)
Eve spends $20 on counter-votes. ($50 E /$50 B / $2 O)
Bob & Eve spend $45 on counter-votes. ($5 E / $5 B / $2 O)
