I've been considering running a Small with:
5 named townies
1 rolename cop OR 1 shrink (neither have safe-claims)
1 cult recruiter (investigation reveals safe-claim)

OP will contain a list of 7 names which are randomly distributed.
Players will be told the rolename of the culted player each morning.
The D1 lynch roleblocks instead of killing.
I may let the town PR decide which power to take, or decide before the game but leave it ambiguous.

Any suggestions on balance, breakability, FUN?
What's a shrink? Also: one of the 7 names isn't used?

Ah, sorry. Shrink prevents their target from being recruited for a night and can self-target. Yes, one of the names isn't used.

Seems very swingy, as basically town have to get the cult recruiter D1 or D2

D2 with a mis lynch would be 2 cult 4 town and lylo

But of course if cult gets lynched D1 their screwed.

It would be very quick either way!

In terms of game breaking, the way I see it is you force a D1 mass claim which will give you 6 named players and the town PR as unamed (assuming I have read the setup right).

That way unitl you find the cult recruiter you can always lynch the recruited player. Which may make days boring until your down to 1 vs 2.

Trying the Mafia Reloaded game as a Small to see if I get enough players. See the sign-ups thread.

So, I was spawned into a cult by stubbs on N2. I told him I'd recruit him, but I recruited DJ instead. I still feel guilty about that, but I thought he'd get taken down and suspected his wincon. I'm confused as to why the game did not end since the recruit on DJ started to go through, so here's hoping I made the right choice....

Cannot fully trust information anyways. Designed powerful Town roles. Assumes a corresponding power level, and thus misdirection, from anti-Town. Recalls Snark's reaction to Day One's Arcane Voice, correct?

Would have believed a moderator-puppeteer role, honestly. Could present this:
Cannot lie. Remains able to post others' lies, however.
Does not contradict your opening statement. Creates obstacles for Arcane Voice otherwise. Eliminates false Public Oracles (through Godfather, for example) too.

Must consider a direct Lataro role also. Consists of your previous claims and games. Claims to be yourself. Allows (mostly) free reign over flavor.

Sidenote: Expected a spontaneous Jesterbomb button for anti-Town. Becomes a Jesterbomb upon claiming Jester. Recognizes easy victory issues, though.

Actually a lyncher/survivor I suppose.

I really do expect from the nature of this game for almost everyone, if not everyone, to be indies or something. People trying to pretend otherwise annoy me, and if I get lynched for it, then so be it.

That or my assessment of the flavor is wrong and everyone else is town/mafia. Whatever happens, happens.

My friend in another forum posted this beautiful idea for a game. It's far to complicated for anyone to reasonably host, but it's nice to imagine people playing it.

Spoiler:
6 games, each of the 6 players is simultaneously participating in 5 of the games and moderating one of them. The goal is to win the most games possible. What is cool is that because each player is modding one game, they can use the threat of modkilling a player in their game as leverage is a game in which they are not mod. Or reveal info about people role's that only they as the mod know.

Gah, I really hope I die so I can stop reading this game and getting annoyed by people.

Either a number of people are scum buddies or otherwise linked knowingly to each other, or they are just being so damned dense it's annoying me to the point of regretting signing up.

This is just reminding me to stop trying to be a nice guy and sign up for games that I don't think I'll enjoy playing, in order to help ensure they run.

Facebook vs. Twitter
Spoiler:
I am in fact a pirate. Win #1: Survive. Win #2: Kill Sergei Brin. And someone's out to get me, which means I should try to kill anyone who sounds like a lyncher. If there's a mafia, them too. No idea what would count as a "Sergei Brin tell," so I'm just trying to survive and hope my target gets caught in the crossfire.
And I have a 1-shot kill that I got the first time the lights went out. Probably I'll use it on someone who's voting for me, if that happens.

Quite low. The power roles are pretty close to vanilla, and I don't think there are many complicated interactions between them. The only complexity is in the "Then" and "Now", which will become abundantly clear once the game starts.

All that is left is two cult, a survivor, and five townies.
