Affirmative. So in that case. I only know I'm town, so I'm voting for myself.

Those that don't know, I don't typically play on weekends. I'll see if I can stop in on my phone, but we'll see.

vote: Freezeblade

Quick morning post
Sorry for dropping off the face of the Earth, I spent half of Thursday in a car and the other half in a cave. I probably would've joined voting Jimbob although I know this is of little value now. I'm a little lost too, will think more in the evening. Until then I'll

The way I see it there are only two possibilities:
1. One mafioso left (if there was only one to begin with or one of them died doesn't matter). In this case a tied vote would allow the mafioso to self-hammer and win (and we have to lynch correctly, so I guess this is LYLO). I'm not sure how to avoid that though, since the mafioso could swing it big time unless both townies vote the same.
2. Two mafia left (but then there's not much point in discussing anything with you two scunners  ). This would mean you're unaware of who your partner is (otherwise the game would be over by now) , which is an amusing thought.

The townsfolk had put together quite a nice shipping crate from all the spare wood around the village, and every last stamp collection had been raided to plaster the surface with enough postage for one person by weight.

The three stood around and stared carefully at each other; the postal truck would be arriving soon, and at least one other person would have to agree to help close the box for the one getting in, or the package couldn't be accepted.

Yeah been thinking about this all day.

Clearly I'm not on a team with one fo you as I could have hammered them.

I have nothing to go on so unless one of you can convince me going to hammer somi in a few hours. As with nothing else to go on am falling back on freeze = scum.

Why exactly is that the fallback this game? or are you saying that's the standard fallback? (which, really with my always-scummy meta, I'm not surprised).

What has Somi done that is more trustworthy than I?

Standard fall back

Nothing hence the fall back

In all honesty, I'm still just as lost as you seem to be. Unlike the taciturn gunmen in the opening scene of Once Upon a Time in the West, we can't expect a train to turn up anytime soon though.
wam wrote:Clearly I'm not on a team with one fo you as I could have hammered them.

This doesn't rule the possibility of you being lone mafia or not knowing your partner. As mentioned before I think the game would've ended already if there were two mafia who knew their mate. And you could get away with a cop claim in a game with no alignment flips too. Of course the same is true of a miller claim :|

Nothing, which is why I was confused with the selection!

I'm pretty sure that flipping a coin would be just as accurate at the moment.

So I dont see the Miller claim coming from scum freeze. I also didn't get a result last night so there must be a role blocker.

Somi hasn't appeared so I'm going to assume freeze is town and

vote freezeblade

Freezeblade has been lynched
Wam channeled his inner Sherlock, jumped to a surprising twist conclusion, glazed over the plot holes and started explaining it in simple terms while pacing back and forth. The explanation kept him and Somitomi distracted while the crate was loaded and the postal truck drove off.

With 50%+0 of the vote remaining, Mafia faction wins.
As reversi town members; Jimbob, Freezeblade, Wam win.
As the reversi mafia member; Somitomi loses.

Freezeblade made it to Owen Sound in good time, and used his Milling skills to start up a successful grain processing business.
Spoiler:
You are a Town Miller

Night effect:
You will appear to be Mafia if investigated by a cop.

Win condition:
As a member of Town, you must ensure Town loses.
This means eliminating members of the Town (including yourself), without eliminating the Mafia.

Wam was eventually picked up by a limo service paid for by Freezeblade and Jimbob's success, and was able to display his investigatory skills in a larger town. He soon rose to police chief and spent his days assigning wildcard cops to patrol with by-the-book partners.
Spoiler:
You are an Overworked Cop. You are a member of the Town.

Night effect:
Each night, choose two of the remaining players to investigate. You are too busy to stay organized, and will get only one result from an unknown one of your targets. You may not self-target.

Win condition:
As a member of Town, you must ensure Town loses.
This means eliminating members of the Town (including yourself), without eliminating the Mafia.

Somitomi langushed as a hermit in the ex-town of Meaford, keeping a low profile to avoid notice by the higher-ups in the organization.
Spoiler:
You are a Mafia Cleaner.

Night Effect:
Each night, you may choose what cop results will be given for each player remaining in the game. Default results are the same as sane cop until you change them.
(For each remaining player including yourself, make one choice from Town, Not Town, No result)

Faction Night Effect:
As a member of the Mafia faction, you may choose to attempt to NK another player each night. You may not self-target. This is optional; you may choose to withhold.

Win condition:
As a member of Mafia, you must ensure Mafia loses.
This means eliminating members of the Mafia (including yourself), without eliminating the Town.

Special:
In case of a tied vote, you may choose which of the tied players is lynched (choose yourself where possible of course).

Peaceful Whale's Role:
Spoiler:
You are a Town Hypochondriac.

Night Effect:
Your medical paranoia means you will self-doctor and cannot be NKed unless you have been visited by a real doctor on the previous night.

Win condition:
As a member of Town, you must ensure Town loses.
This means eliminating members of the Town (including yourself), without eliminating the Mafia.

JimBobMacDoodle's Role for Reference:
Spoiler:
You are an Overworked Doctor. You are a member of the Town.

Night Effect:
Each night, choose two of the remaining players to protect from Night Kills. You are far too busy to get feedback from your patients on your effectiveness. Doctoring is Obligatory but you may self-target for one of the choices.

Win condition:
As a member of Town, you must ensure Town loses.
This means eliminating members of the Town (including yourself), without eliminating the Mafia.

I assumed a one-on-one would end in a tied vote and I could self-hammer for the win. Anyway, good game town, you got me.

This concept is fun, I'd be down for a larger 8+ game, call it "wine-afia"

How would town players ever win at all in that case?
The surviving townie would have to have two votes or a self-vig or something.

freezeblade wrote:This concept is fun, I'd be down for a larger 8+ game, call it "wine-afia"

I have put a new reversi in the queue.

Ghostbusters: Total Protonic Reversal.
Idea is that everyone got sucked into a ghost trap, and Town needs to let the townie Ghostbusters out without letting the Poltergeist Mafia escape.

Definitely going to have a harder minimum number of players next time :D

Also, I think the entire game hinged on the cop result there.
If it had been forced to a town result instead of leaving the no result option, I imagine Somitomi would have won.
"Town" would have implied either Somi is town or Freeze is lying, or cop is also secretly naive/crazy, or lower probability things like GF or wacky abilities like the Cleaner.

Hmmm, true, I haven't considered that. It's kind of weird for that tiebreaker power to become useless in endgame though. But then I could've avoided having to fall back on it by playing my cards right with the cop ability. Damn short game, I barely got to use it

The tiebreaker power is mostly a threat to force people to pay attention to the vote and hammer instead of NLing to wait out any compulsive mafia NKs.

It is a bit odd that the epilogue votes don't go they way they naturally would if the game had been played out to zero, but as far as I know there isn't a good way to do that in a tiny game.

PS:
To be fair, the reversiness, shortness, and explicit counterproductive powertude is the only reason that the ludicrously OP Cleaner power remains balanced :D
