Is this of the vi vs emacs, os war type or the type involving two groups of religious nutters killing one another?

Everything except the last unless it is because the loser used vi.

Basically this is a place to have all those redundant Mac vs Windows vs Linus, Perl vs PHP, C vs Java arguements so that they do not spill into other discussions about computer/coding related things.

No, its the place to have all those things because all those things are in and of them selves important enough to warrant the full attention of the forums. Silly Gordon.

Time to be pedantic (and necro this thing): PC stands for Personal Computer (or Basically Decent, which is just all forms of predjudice reversed so that people are against themselves). A personal computer running an Apple OS or Linux distribution is still a PC. Call it a windows machine, please.[/fussy bastard]

Mac, although that's because it's more user-friendly. He'd probably switch to Linux once he was more confident with Computers, but for now He'll stick with mac, so he can get more familiar with a technology almost 2000 years in his future.

Batman uses Wayne-corp computers.
That or ones he made himself, because apparently he's some kind of Savant as well as a ninja.

Which probably means he's using some home-dev variant of Linux or BSD.

Jesus came back once in 1530, looked around, went back to bed. He was kind of pissed off at what people were doing in his name, but he was tired, and was just like, "Meh, I'll sort it out later"
This *Sorting out* shall be known as the Rapture.

Ah, I was initially confused too...thinking this was an actual religion thread (polytheism vs. monotheism, my God, no God, which prophet to follow, etc.). Then again, considering the passion people have invested in operating systems (Apple, Windows) and the ideologies that follow (proprietary, open-source) it's not much a stretch.

Recently, I'm considering that there are four "great" (based on size) religions: Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and Apple. I could go on drawing analogies between the two (the iPod serving the same role for an Apple fan as a symbol of the crucifix for a Christian follower) but it'd be fun to see what parallels you guys can draw.

I'll be a pedant too. PC also refers to IBM-PC clones using the x86 architecture. Computers that run on another architecture, like the Power architecture, are arguably not PCs.

[pointless pedantic] Judaism is actually very small, comparatively. Hindusim, Buddhism, Taoism, etc. pretty much wipes the floor with it. Though Jews can have some pride: they're still beating the Unitarians. [/pointless pedantic]

I think more important than WWJU or WWBU is WWMGU?
MacGyver's OS of choice, being, of course, hardwired into a PC made entirely of paper clips.

Well, and it would have been inefficient to multiply by two, then divide by four, when you could just bitshift one to the right :P

Maybe, but us Unitarians retroactively claim all deists, agnostics, RINOs (religious in name only) and nice people. That puts us way over the top (seriously, I'm pretty sure that when I was younger I somehow acquired the mistaken impression that Thomas Jefferson was a Unitarian Universalist. I was probably just being a dumb/confused kid, though).

Besides, Jewnitarians are awesome.

It was Mr. Rogers that won the ultimate battle, so I'm going to use what he would do.
