Interesting Covers

It's only cool if no one's heard of it.

This guy, Doveman, recorded a cover of the entire Footloose soundtrack, and it is available for free. dovemanmusic.com

It is really weird, laid back and slow and not close to the originals, but I have fallen in love with his cover of "Let's Hear It For The Boy".

Edit: So I just checked the link to make sure I got it right, and apparently they no longer can offer the soundtrack for download. You can listen to it on the site, but luckily I downloaded the tracks before.
I sing anyway.

Oh my!

Noone has said this yet!

Whole album: Version by Mark Ronson.

AWESOME.

Covers Radiohead, The Smiths and many more...
The whole album is just covers, but they hang together so well you'd think he wrote the album.

In general I dislike the band, but Fall Out Boy just released a pretty interesting cover of Beat It. It's a song with a lot of rocking potential, and IMHO they play it better than Michael in terms of pure rock-out value.

Heyy... Valerie is one of my favourite songs off the mark ronson album.

Such a fun album.

That one there is abit more laid back and... bluesy maybe. I personally prefer the upbeat one. :P Each to his own.

Oh shit.

He came off as incredibly cocky and arrogant.

Seven Nation Army - pretty good

Paranoid Android - OH MY GOD HE MURDERED THAT PIANO. Poor thing. The only thing that has going for it is energy... because it didn't really sound good, or take any skill. Then again it was kinda inventive. Meh. Not mah cuppa tea.

Well, the first post *did* say bad covers go here, as well. And I think I've found a pretty goddamn awful cover. Prepare to head-desk.

"My Generation" - Hilary Duff

She changed the lyrics to "hope I don't die before I get old!" ARGH! That's not just covering it badly, that's taking the essence of the song and destroying it. It's horrific. Of course, the Disney princess also got rid of the (great) "f-f-f-f-fade away". Daltrey's sneering vocals have been replaced by Duff's happy, squealing voice that she's ever so happy to be part of her generation. *headdesk*

*Revives*

I've been enjoying this cover of Wuthering Heights, as done by the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain.

Antony and the Johnsons do Knocking On Heaven's Door, I Will Survive and Crazy In Love.
