Even though I haven't been impressed with their last three albums, I hold a small amount of hope that the new Metallica album will be worthwhile.

New Mastodon would make me pretty happy.

I think the new Rancid, Green Day, Death Cab for Cutie, and the Offspring CD's will be pretty good.

I'm waiting to see if Eve 6 is gonna put out another album since the "reunion". Also curious about what RHCP is doing...other than that, I don't really follow bands before they put albums out. More of a reactionary "Oh, a new one? Sweet!" type of album purchaser. I like being pleasantly surprised.

I-Empire (the new Angels and Airwaves album) is coming out the 15th I think. Hopefully it's as good as We Don't Need To Whisper.

- Emmy Rossum - Inside Out (I like Miss Rossum's voice when she sings in a way more appropriate to her abilities than Phantom; plus I'm very curious about the lyrics, since legend has it that she wrote most of them herself; somehow it's fun to watch her grow up);
- My Chemical Romance - untitled (I'm very curious how they'll develop);
- Mindless Self Indulgence - untitled (because!)
- Robbie Williams - untitled (will it sound like all his other stuff? again??)

Anything released by pretty much any of the bands I have an average rating of above 4 stars for, most notably anything released by:

Ben folds
Dresden Dolls
The Fray
Muse
Within Temptation
Lacuna Coil
Anything involving andrew mcmahon
Tool
JT bruce (http://www.subjectruin.net)
Straylight run

Of course, I don't track upcoming albums so I have no idea when or if they'll come out.

Less anticipated but still interesting: Waking Ashland, Coldplay, Keane, Nightwish, Jet, Allison Crowe.

I probably missed alot of bands I like due to not having any of their songs in media player.

I'm far from being a metalhead, but the news about Boris releasing a new album made me very, very happy. Yeah, it's due april 2008, but still.

Apart from that I'm currently not looking forward to anything in particular. Maybe My Bloody Valentine, but there's no way they can make something with Loveless-like in quailty, in my opinion.

Tally Hall apparently has a deal for four records, but I don't know anything about when the next one might come out. I want it to do so soon.

I just found out about this limited edition 13 cd set* that Buckethead released back in February. Only problem is now I can only get it off ebay for $300-$1000. Maybe I can talk my parents into paying for half of it for my birthday.

*More info:
Spoiler:
Buckethead will release a set of albums, entitled "In Search Of The", on February 21. While not much is known about this collection, it has been confirmed that there are a total of thirteen albums that have each been personally numbered and monogrammed by Buckethead himself.

According to musician/producer and frequent Buckethead collaborator Travis Dickerson, "This is not a regular CD. It's hand-made, hand-burned. The cover is whatever is deemed to be written on it. This is not a manufactured deal; each one is different and will be numbered and monogramed. No two of these will be the same. I have never heard of an artist doing something like this. This is as direct from the artist to the fan as I have ever heard of.

"As far as the content, I don't know, but the mystery around it is no surprise. Again, I can't speculate because I don't want to mislead anyone, I just don't know anymore. My gut sense is this is a conceptual work, a piece of art. It could contain anything."

Edit: Decided I don't need the collectors edition, I'll get the regular one and actually be able to listen to it! Now I really want that though...

I'm pumped for the sixth Weezer album, no doubt. The third part in Saves the Day's current trilogy of albums (mostly I just want closure). I think it's cute that so many of you think Chinese Democracy will ever actually be released, it's absolutely adorable. Other than that, I'm not sure who's got new albums planned, but it should be a decent year for tunes.
I have nothing to offer anybody except my own confusion.
And some old pictures.

RAMMSTEIN! :D
Also Greenday sounds promising, Illdisposed (danish death metal), Within Temptation might be worth a listen, just hope they go back to a "mother earth" feel, maybe Metallica but I'm not getting my hopes up. Ace of Base is a wildcard with emphasis on wild :P Besides these I don't know of any upcoming albums by bands that I like (which is a bit sad really)

here's hoping it's not going to be compressed to hell with no dynamic range like just about everything else the last few years....

Massive Attack, Portishead, obviously.

An album from Tricky would be nice-- but only if he collaborates with the delightfully-named Martina Topley-Bird.

I'm also kinda/sorta looking forward to the new U2 album coming out this year.

Zooey Deschanel is finally coming out with a debut album in March! I am SO excited! I have been obsessed with her voice ever since Elf. Here are some songs via Myspace, they are beautiful.
