Nope. The Bramble Brast remake is the greatest song I've ever heard on any video game. I actually listened to it like five times in the music player, which is rare for me since I usually don't like game music that much. But Bramble Blast brought back such memories, and in style too. Congrats Nintendo, on topping your own awesome tracks.

Just played it tonight on my friend's Wii, and I was quite impressed. It isn't a huge update over Melee (why fix what isn't broken?) but I feel they've done a much better job at giving the characters their own unique playing styles. I think the addition of the final smash really adds to this.

My personal favorite character?
Snake. He has a very unique playing style that represents the feel of the MGS games a lot more than I expected. I found the "Snake Snake Snaaaaaaake" cheer quite clever as well. But where the hell is the cardboard box from the preview vids?

The two things that get me every time are the fact that shields are now much more useful than they were previously (they last longer at greater sizes, and they are quicker) and the aerial dodges... I'm used to stopping in mid-air like you did in Melee.

I am absolutely loving Zero Suit Samus. Very quick, with a nice balance of light and heavy attacks. Not so many heavy attacks, but side-b and aerial-up+a are strong enough to kill once you've pecked enough.

You people are crazy. ROB is where it's at. He's majorly official.

Wolf too. Brilliant.

And, as surprised as I am to say it, King Dedede.

You mean his special one of shadow moses? That one is awesome.

I myself am partial to Ike, and love the fact that his chant is "We Like Ike"
I also like Link, Toon Link and Sonic so far. Still need to try out some more characters

I'm guessing the cheers are different in the English version. In the Japanese version, Pit is cheered with "Piiiiiiiiit-kuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun!" and I'm guessing that doesn't carry over.

Olimar is indeed quite powerful... I got 3:00.12 on 100-Man today with him (his up-smash kills alloys like nothing else... it's way better than DK's down B because you can move). And his thrown Pikmin have the pot

He's extremely difficult to use though... it'll be a while before I can use him as well as I can Falco and the Ice Climbers.

Tip when fighting Olimar: If you have a Pikmin on you and you have a counter move (Lucario, Marth, Ike), you can counter the Pikmin's attack, killing it.

I personally like Wolf, Ike (such slow attacks, but so friggin' powerful), Pokémon Trainer, and R.O.B. I've also started using Wario more, and he hits pretty hard, given how quick he can move. I do not particularly like Olimar because he seemed useless the first few times I've tried playing with him, but I'm sure there is something I'm missing. This game certainly seems more balanced than Melee, so I'm having a hard time believing that they'd put such a weak fighter in this time around.

The Smash Ball has become a source of frustration for some of my friends. They'll do most of the work in busting it open, and I'll come in and swat them out of the way and hit the ball once and get the Final Smash. They get so perturbed.

Does anyone think that some of the final smashes are overpowered?

Yeah, his Up B is pretty much what makes him the best character ever. I once fought someone and got 3 smash balls in a row because of it.

But still, I am by no means 1337 with him yet. Micromanagement isn't the easiest thing in the world. It's fun, though.

EDIT:

His Up B, and the fact that you aren't good at micromanagement, probably.
Also, by the way, how the heck does Wario's fart attack work? I never got that...

I think it charges up as the battle goes on. I know that it's usually an explosion if I wait long enough between using it.

Olimar is pretty cool, but I just rock him to much for me to use him.

The characters I'm going to practice with enough to be awesome at...long list, because I have time...

Wolf
ROB
Pit
MK
Falco
KDDD

And that's the list.

My mains are Ike, Snake and Wolf, but Olimar is coming close. I just have to get a bit better at him. R.O.B., Zero Suit Samus, Wario, Metaknight, Pit, and actually most of the characters (read: all who are not Mario, Jigglypuff, Ness, or Yoshi) have gotten a lot of playtime from me (and I actually like Yoshi a lot more than in Melee. I should play as hi more.).

I think it's safe to call this the greatest fighting game that was never in arcades.

just had a weekend long Brawl party, and I must say, the Isaac Assist Trophy is GOD.

Oh, And I've found out the Wolf and Ike are my mains. ROB is third, but he's just not good enough in 4 man Brawls i think.

In 1v1 matches, Toon Link is definitely where it's at. I love the classic costume, too.

Otherwise, Ike is pretty much the greatest powerhouse ever. He's seriously freakishly strong, has a pretty good recovery, and super-armor is AWESOME.

Bowser is actually a decent character now! Suiciding is really fun, as well.

I really, really wish Pit had a good down attack from being in the air. It'd complete him and make him an unquestionable top character for me. Without it I just can't fully commit.

Sonic is fun, and a wonderful down attack from the air. His special moves are a bit tricky, as are all the "rolling" attacks.

I'd like metaknight if not for his drill thing disabling any kind of jump after it if you don't hit ground again.

I'm really think Toon Link hits a bunch of my needs and may end up being my most used guy.

Guys and Gals, would you say this is worth buying a Wii for?

(I bought a GC for SSBM, and tbh no matter what you answer I'm likely to buy a Wii for Brawl. Also Europe is shafted for the release date of this game, 1/5/08 wtf seriously.

I would say less than 2 months is a very good turn around for an America -> Europe conversion. You've got translations to integrate for French, German, Spanish, etc. as well as the coding from NTSC (some code like that for North America region) to PAL - the Wii still uses that system right? - so 2 months is quite a bit less than the 3-5 months I was realistically expecting for Brawl.

A few things I've noted:
1) Wolf's Landmaster is ridiculous. I managed to score 6 kills with it today in one go. I somehow caught all three opponents in the first shot, then I waited for all three of them to get off their spawn platforms and then flew them off the top of the screen. Hysterical for me; significantly less funny for them.

2) After some studying (that is, going and finding a guide) of Olimar, he's not too bad. Although that's definitely not my style of play. Still good to know if I come across any serious Olimar players.

3) Wario's Chomp attack (neutral B) is referred to as the "Nom" attack. At least by me.

I love playing Meta-knight. His tornado wins so much, and the down-B disappear thing confuses everyone. Then again, I've never faced anyone really good, so I can't really judge.

Kirby's down-B smash and Pikachu's down-B thunderbolt (see a pattern here?) are also really useful.

Oh, and is it just me, or are Falco and Fox almost identical?

But Falco has the stun-laser!

I'm stuck here. For only am I suffering from the Melee -> Brawl transition, but I also can't figure out who I'll main. With Melee, Luigi stuck out as my definite favorite; with Brawl, I don't like any one character particularly. Possibilities are Rukario/Lucario (even though I'll never forgive him for replacing Mewtwo) and Pokemon Trainer, but I still don't feel like they "stick."
