Post your arsenal

Postby xyzzy » Mon Jun 18, 2007 10:33 pm UTC

Inspired by the content of many of the posts in the Post Your Face thread, it's the Post Your Arsenal thread.

Idea is simple: Round up all your weapons, take a photo, stick it up here.

Kitchen knives don't really count, unless you're desperate.

I don't have a camera handy, but I've got a sword and a couple knives (can only find one right now), and my brother has a Berber dagger.

Reckon you can beat it?

No, but I reckon I can beat you:

In my flat, we have a crap load of knives (a few of my flat mates are army buffs), a slingshot, a claymore, a katana, and a nasty smell that kills anything that comes into contact with it. My flat mate also has a weird knobbly baton that causes immense amounts of pain when applied to your wrist. Probably the most pain I've ever experienced.

EDIT: I would post a photo but none of it actually belongs to me. I'm the pacifist in this household.

Sorry for being off topic but can somebody explain what it is with most geeks/nerds and weaponry? The best explanation that I heard is "Underneath their C:\DOS RUN shirts beats the heart of a level 12 battlemage" but this doesn't explain guns which most other nerds have.

The best i can do to explaining it, is that there's so many specifications and different types of guns/ammo it's hard for someone who is a nerd by nature to not like them, especially if they're collectors/packrats.

That said i don't own any guns, but i do have sword or two.

If i were to get a gun it would be very similar to Vash the Stampede's simply because that gun is hoss.

I have six 24" machetes, an $800 hunting knife, and a vast collection of crowbars, prybars, saws (corded and cordless and hand-held), hammers, sledges, and other destructive implements of construction. Zome get me, you brain-eating zombie bastards.

Two fencing foils and a pile of cricket bats, plus miscellanious kitchen implements. Also, two cats.

I'd be pretty much screwed.

Bersa .380

And a very anti-social snake (or anti social-snake, if you must.)

((and i KNOW you do...))

ah, and various pocket knives. and a couple of swords, but those are ont he wall so they dont count. A few daggers collected from Ren Fairs (like real ones, not the crappy buy it at a mall kind), two bayonett blades (the actual guns are in a safe)

and about 4 tool boxes just FULL of blunt objects and screw drivers.

And a bag full of knitting needles (not sharp just mean you have to stab harder)

Back in our day we had to walk uphill both ways through the snow on fire without feet to get fucking terrible relationship advice from disinterested and socially maladjusted nerds. Belial

One sucky sword. Good axe. Large kitchen knife. A couple big sticks that would be adequate bludgeoning weapons. Bow and arrows, but I'm a bad shot.

7 pocket knives

A bokken (it hurts to get hit with...)

A baseball bat.

My BARE HANDS!

I currently have no pictures because all of these things are top secret and I would have to kill anyone who saw them.

My arsenal:
.30-06 (supposed to be used for hunting, I've been slacking so it's just been used for target shooting)

12 gauge shotgun (remington 870) - all it gets used for is skeet shooting, at which my dad repeatedly owns me.

Savage bolt action .22, hi-power, ghetto .40 S&W.

Zombies beware!

I've got a couple swords from Toledo, as well. None of them are traditional Eurpoean style swords, though (rapiers were hella expensive, for one thing). I suppose I should remedy that lack if I go back there.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. Not a very weapon-y person, I guess. And I can't take a picture because they're at home, thousands of miles away from here.
Unless stated otherwise, I do not care whether a statement, by itself, constitutes a persuasive political argument. I care whether it's true.

Max respect for the dual-wield, even if they would be way too heavy to swing that way...

A pocket knife and a hidden razor.
And honestly, what the fuck else would you need?

Okay, well, there are scissors, a safety pin, a golf club, and a soldering iron in my immediate vicinity.

A soldering iron would make a helluva interrogation tool.

heres my wifi arsenal

Image
from the todB(p clockwise: linksys wrt54g v1.1 board (i think its dead), a fonera with a fan and a pigtail mod (the pigtail was taken from the dead board and is rp-tnc), a wrt54gs and a wrt54g v2. the fonera and the WRTs are all running ddwrt

Image
from top to bottem left to right: my 15-18dB waveguide, my 9dB(i think) collinear antenna (need to fix it because a connection is loose inside), what use to be a 2-3dB spider antenna that i added a baseplate to, a really weak wave guide (haven't testes it that much yet. I just made it sunday out of a misordered pigtail i refound. so it can only connect to rp-sma), and a ~6dB biquad

Image
some aluminum for baseplates, many feet of rg-213/u coax, 3 N female rf connectors, 2 right angles connectors, 2 endcaps, pvp pipe and copper pipe for the decouplers

Image
going clockwire (excluding my left foot): rp-tnc male to n male (shitty thin coax. it was cheap and i wanted a second one so i ordered that one), a long mc card to n male pigtail (its too long and the coax is too thin, so im looking to buy a new one) and a better thicker rp-tnc tp n male made out of rg58/u

i also have a second dead fonera and missing 2 n female bulkheads

Well nothing on me here, but I have at home a 5' iron bar with a pointy end, which would have some serious stopping power. I think it's meant for smashing concrete, but it would make short work of a zombie as well. I also have a large axe, several varieties of knife, a throwable hatchet, and a mattock, which while not actually a weapon is quite good for standing there hefting and staring at Jehovah's Witnesses until they shut up and go away.

A good friend from my school days can be relied on to have plenty of explosive (just ammonium nitrate + fuel) ready for use, as well as ingredients to make it.
The voices in my head tell me that I should write something here. Unfortunately, they won't tell me what to write.
