Other people plaiting my hair is the only time it has been plaited. People exist out there who plait their own hair and I am still impressed by them.

I have recently learned how to do this!! I did a french braid almost every night before I went to bed and in a couple months I could do it fairly well. Now I'm practicing the reverse one (Dutch braid I think I heard it called?) where the hair crosses under instead of over. I think it actually looks better when I do it myself vs. the french braid, something to do with the direction the hair is pulled I think.

Also I want to add that your hair looks lovely :)

Until you realize that the fore is collapsible (I do not know the math words for this). Fore*fore is equivalent to fore.

Everything is literally foreplay.

My beard used to be long enough to braid. No-one ever french braided it though. Now it's way too short.

A normal 3-strand plait is fairly easy (but it's easier to learn by practising with a small braid nearer the front of your hair). I'm incredibly impressed by people who can do more complicated things like french plaits themselves (although the friend who plaited my hair for the photo reckons she finds it easier to do on herself than someone else). I keep meaning to learn, it would be nice to be able to make my hair look prettier/fancier without needing help.

When I was younger I practiced 3-strand braids on my dolls. The french braiding skill came much much later - I knew how to do it, could technically do it on others, but doing it myself was a bit of a mental block. I have to imagine that I'm standing behind myself, watching me do it. But because I do it that way, I can't see myself in a mirror while doing it (it really messes up the visualization) so I can't tell if I have any weird bumps or strands out of place until after I've finished.

I wonder if they use an iodine based dye or something (maybe not iodine - that would create allergy problems). I would imagine that most dyes would be vulnerable to some sort of solvent. How long do those marks take to fade/come off?

I hear that what you should do is put vaseline on it, then dip in chlorox afterwards, but I'm happy to be marked as it's my first time at home.

I used to love snow. Then during a brief trip to Boston, where the snow was piled up on the sides of the road higher than I am tall, while I was making the mistake of depending on GPS for directions, which led me into a residential neighborhood repeatedly, telling me a fence was Logan International which was in fact ten blocks away...when the snow left two-lane residential roads into one-lane roads...I had nightmares for weeks. Fortunately I managed to get my rental car back where it belonged, without a scratch, ninety minutes before my flight left, ninety minutes after I expected to get to the airport.
