Today my favorite professor told me that I have an exceptionally rare gift for being able to see both the practical side of a problem and the mathematical side, that she felt extremely confident in my abilities, and that I could feel free to use her as a reference throughout my career if I needed to.

My boots I've had for about a month and a half still haven't worn in yet. Why is this awesome? Because that means they're fucking tough boots and, once they do wear in, they'll be the comfiest boots ever. :D

Don't worry too much about it, I find that if you can walk for an hour, you can walk for a day easily. When you hit the wall it's much easier to get over it than with running.

They're not even in that bad nick. The leather's getting a bit worn, but otherwise they're absolutely fine. I've no reason, nor money, to replace them.

Just came home for the weekend, sat down and for the first time in too long just did nothing. I did nothing. It was wonderful. I just laid down and turned on the TV. There was nothing hanging over me. No deadlines.

Then I had a tune stuck in my head, and I needed to hear the full song. I found it (fun. - We are young) and it made me smile. Then, I started listening to more of their music and I found possibly my favorite composition that I've ever heard (fun. - Be Calm) which I think deserves a ramble of it's own sometime...maybe later tonight, I have written much recently to my blog-that-no-one-reads.

Then I checked my school email, nothing. Listened to the song again, and noticed I had a new email in my school email. Opened it, saw it was from my IST 210 professor (Databases, also he's considered the professor who gives the hardest tests) and it was about the test last week. I freaked out (all while that song was playing, it got to 1:30 right as I read the header of the email "Test Grade") thinking I had done horrible (I took nearly two hours to complete it, about ten minutes longer than anyone else because I rewrote everything (ER diagrams, etc.) on the test because he said poor handwriting would not be graded and due to a nerve condition from a while ago...blah blah blah, my handwriting is atrocious. Anyway, the email was informing us that he posted the grades online, so I run over to check the grade (read: I remained stationary except for a slight movement with my mouse) and checked them.

99%! I am so fucking ecstatic right now! I've never really had much test anxiety before this one test, and I had never cared so much about a grade before this one test, and now I tried and I did good. I am so fucking happy right now.

On music! On food! On drink! Tonight, we celebrate!

On a totally unrelated note, this weekend is State Patty's day...

Indeed! I got into Fun a few months ago and that's my favorite track of their album. Also, my Fun channel on Pandora is the most varied out of anything else I've tried thus far, boasting a good mix of instrumental tracks and a wide swath of rock from like... the 60s to present day. Oddly enough no Queen yet, which I would've expected.

Even awesomer -- Fun's new album came out... yesterday? I really ought to grab it. *giddy*

It was a good night for Maruk the Mul Barbarian. Woken up at 3 am a) in a brothel b) on fire, next to c) a halfing who was d) also on fire. Within 4 turns, he had grabbed his sword, killed three of the bandits-with-flaming arrows who were attacking, and rolled a 27 on endurance check to put out the lady's flames by hugging her till they went out. All while wearing naught but hide armor.

There is a lot of entertaining D&D shit in the Suptg archives.

>When a character contracts lycanthropy through a lycanthrope’s bite (see above), no symptoms appear until the first night of the next full moon. On that night, the afflicted character involuntarily assumes animal form and forgets his or her own identity, temporarily becoming an NPC. The character remains in animal form, assuming the appropriate alignment, until the next dawn.

The character’s actions during this first episode are dictated by the alignment of its animal form. The character remembers nothing about the entire episode (or subsequent episodes) unless he succeeds on a DC 15 Wisdom check, in which case he becomes aware of his lycanthropic condition.

>Werebear alignment is Lawful Good.
My players were playing in an evil campaign, and one of them was a very cliche` necromancer. He had a tower he'd taken in a previous adventure, and him and the party terrorized the local populace, extorting money for spells, taking women captives, etc. They fought against a cadre of werebears, and the necromancer was afflicted. He has not yet become aware of his affliction, and is trying to figure out why, after every full moon, the villagers find a large pile of salmon, to help them survive in this harsh and hostile land.
