2009 CABS CBR600RR

That is a very nice bike. I can imagine it is rather worrying to ride the first few times...

It is a little. My previous bike had a very upright sitting position. This doesn't (obviously), it's 40kg heavier, and has nearly 5 times the power.

:D

Soy milk.
It looks like milk, but is made of beans, and tasty in a slightly different way.

I stepped on the scale for the first time in a few months and found out I've lost about 20 pounds (roughly 9kg for the rest of the world). I guess my exercise and not eating as much junk has paid off better than I thought! This is the first time I've been under 180 since... hell I don't even know. Losing my gut and man boobies is achievable!

Also, taking a pair of slippers and putting them under the hand dryer in our dorm bathroom is awesome. Pre-warmed slippers!

Sounds pretty awesome. What kind of blanket?
I've been crocheting sweaters, and it's pretty sweet to make stuff.

I remembered some other awesome things about pet rats: they can learn to play basketball, and they 'laugh' when you tickle them.

Cake you found, wrapped, somewhere odd,
Calling your ex-teacher "A dirty sod!"
Playing "tag" when you're turning seventeen,
Trying to sell your best friend's spleen,
Jumping over someone who is out like a light,
Failing, waking them, and getting into a fight,
Running behind and pretending to assassinate people,
Trying to climb to a high church steeple,
Some are things that I have done,
Some I thought would just be fun,
Whether you do all of them a few, or one,
I'd like to think they're all pretty awesome.[1]

I just love messing aboout in the pool with friends - doing human pyramids and handstands and playing "knights". Now that is fun :D
On a similar note, playing Assassins is awesome. I love pretending to kill people - in a light-hearted way, of course.

Attended a really cool lecture today. The guy used the event as an excuse to do a whole bunch of cool chemistry demonstrations. One in particular stood out. He placed a cigar into a beaker of liquid oxygen and let it soak in. He took it out and lit it and the thing went off like a fucking flare. He told us that the flame was really hot (around 2200 degrees) and to prove this he got a steel plate and burned a hole right through it with the cigar. Then right at the end, he took a puff on the stub.

Awesome. I now have a new addiction. Tracker bars. They're marginally less unhealthy than mars bars which were my previous addiction. I still haven't found anything to replace my beer addiction though.

Related awesome: Apparently drinking 4 pints of beer every night (or equivalent alcohol units in other beverages) is good for minimising the risk of heart disease. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/8367141.stm

Pretty Awesome Thing: I got a job. After 9 months of searching (while doing some freelance photography and substitute teaching), I will have a full-time, permanent job with benefits. And it's a job where I will be doing something important, and helping (I hope) to empower the disadvantaged.
Job description:
"The Home Visitor is responsible for providing child development services and/or prenatal services to families in their home. Home Visitors create weekly individualized lesson plans for children birth to three years of age, conduct weekly 90-minute home visits, complete developmental screenings and assessments, collect health records, make referrals and identify community resources to meet the needs of families, and document all information in computer system. Home Visitors use a prenatal curriculum to provide health and nutrition information to pregnant women, support women to obtain prenatal care and provide breast feeding education."

It's part of the Early Head Start program.
