Honestly, I'm pretty pissed that Avatar didn't win best picture. I hate James Cameron just as much as the next guy, I think he's a real douche, but Avatar was probably my favorite movie of last year.

Listen, I think you're a pretty alright person, so I'm just going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that Avatar was the only movie you watched in 2009 (granted, it was entertaining, if only because it was fun to MST3K it with Pocahontas jokes. Also, it absolutely deserved the Prettiest Movie award, which it won).

I mean, did you see The Hurt Locker? It had a real story, with real characters, who didn't accidentally speak with an Australian accent for half the movie! I'm not one of those pedants who refuses to acknowledge the importance of visuals in film, but I do think that you need more than looks to be the best movie.

His tag says "Star Wars addict" and "Red Bull Drinker." Are you surprised it was his favorite movie of last year?
:D

But yeah, I would have pissed if it won too, even though I don't really pay much attention to the oscars anyways.

Precisely. I don't need hardcore drama/war stories to keep me entertained. I get my fill of seriousness from my music and some other stuff, not movies or TV. There wasn't even a theater close to me advertising The Hurt Locker. I probably would have gone and seen it, but since it was a rather limited release film, I never got the chance.

Besides, I could really care less who says what movies are good. I have my own opinions, and they can have theirs. Doesn't mean either is correct, but then again, neither ever will be, so there's no sense in debating them.

I've been looking for a 1 person sized portion of veggie haggis for ages and couldn't get one but I found one yesterday and now I have a very tasty tea.

Maybe I'm missing something, but isn't haggis defined by the presence of sheep organs? Is this one of those things where they make tofu look like meat? Where is the tea coming in?

Tea is another name for dinner. Also they make veggie haggis with oats and stuff (I'm not actually entirely sure what's in it but it tastes good so I don't really care).

Ah, of course. I did consider that's what you meant, but with the name Teapot, I really thought you meant the drink. I really thought that it was an alternate definition of haggis rather than an alternate definition of tea.

I had a great day today. I got full points in an exam (meaning that I passed the fire hazard course), the weather was nice, I had a nice warm shower and I heard this. I hope the audio quality of the video is good, for some reason I can't hear any audio in youtube at the moment.

I'm leaving this city tomorrow, for good. My best friends surprised me yesterday by giving me this huge cake and asking me to cut it on the middle of the road (they're nuts, but then so am I!) and I just couldn't speak because I was so happy. I love them for everything <3

Hardly quite as cool as Broadway; it's being put on by the college I live at. That said, the choir here is famously competent so I'm still pretty stoked!

I shot off a model rocket for the first time over the weekend. It was pretty cool.

I also did my taxes, and I am getting a significant amount back. That includes $1500 for buying a new furnace! Too bad the new furnace cost me $5720 last year.

I beat Mega Man 10 on Hard Mode! Go, go, Fuck-It Man! (A.K.A., Bass. "What, you mean I have to jump over ALL those platforms? Fuck it, I'm flying, bitches! Eh, I have to JUMP to shoot this boss? Fuck it, I'll just shoot straight up!")

The only achievement I have left to get is Mr. Perfect....which is MARGINALLY less insane in this one, since you can save your game between stages in Wily's Fortress. Should I go for it? :?

Oh, also, this game comes in three difficulty settings: Pussy-Mode, Nintento Hard, and Capcom Hard, as someone has mentioned in other gaming threads (think Ghosts'N'Goblins hard). Any questions about why I'm happy I managed to get through this? :D
Dear xkcd,

On behalf of my religion, I'm sorry so many of us do dumb shit. Please forgive us.

Love, Aikanaro.

Just finished the bloody group assignment they gave us this semester. And I've looked at my last two subjects, and I'm pretty sure they have no group assignments at all :D That's the last group assignment I'll ever have to do - SO MOTHEREFFIN HAPPY!

Well, unless I'm silly enough to enrol in some other course in the future that turns out to have group assignments in it. Which would be my own silly fault in any case.

Mind you, I'm completely fucked for the exam... where's that rant thread...

I have a bubble gun. It shoots bubbles. They are very bubbley. It has lights that add to the awesome of the bubbliness. I like bubbles. =]
