xkcd at drawball.com

Postby PtS » Mon Jun 23, 2008 9:42 pm UTC

Hi! (and long time, no see)

Even though nobody probably remembers me (that disturbing guy from about a year ago (you know exactly who, don't you?)), I thought I should do a small comeback to let you inhabitants of the fora know that there's an xkcd-logo at http://www.drawball.com that would like some attention.

Some tactics:
1. Whatever you do, don't make 4chan attack us.
2. Don't draw anything over xenu.net or chanology, that is.
3. Watch out for raptors.
4. ???
5. Profit!

Where to find the logo:
http://www.drawball.com/4nobf88

Happy drawing!

[Edit] Tried to do a better explanation on how to find it.
[Edit #2] Thanks to M.qrius for direct link.
[Edit #3] Link to new place.
[Edit #4] Added poll out of curiousity.

The Internet is not like xkcd.
The Internet isn't even 4chan.
The Internet is ten thousand bored ten-year-olds with rather poor drawing skills, who live to destroy.

I see we've managed to remove the giant penis, but we should really be focusing on the rapidly disintegrating "cd".
Or, better yet, we could go vandalize 4chan's enormous "CHANOLOGY" and "XENU.NET" and Anonymous logo.
There are no words that can describe my loathing for 4channers. I'm convinced they did this, and most of them are the ten-year-olds I mentioned before.
4chan is an Internet cesspit.

Meanwhile, they have a (fairly) untouched layout that is obnoxiously visible from the highest zoom level and xkcd is losing its last shreds of distinct lettering.
Seriously, I used to think that most people, deep down, had the sort of spark that it takes to really empathize.
The sort of understanding that makes a lot of xkcd appealing even without the obvious "geek jokes".
Or, failing that, a resemblance to something that didn't crawl out of a damp cave somewhere.

I sort of imagine it as people slowly covering older material with newer ideas when interest fades and people stop maintaining it.
NOT people scribbling dicks over website logos.

I added a ball pit.

While I was working on it, some one started adding more balls. How awesome is that?

Code: Select all

_=0,w=-1,(*t)(int,int);a()??<char*p="[gd\
~/d~/\\b\x7F\177l*~/~djal{x}h!\005h";(++w
<033)?(putchar((*t)(w??(p:>,w?_:0XD)),a()
):0;%>O(x,l)??<_='['/7;{return!(x%(_-11))
?x??'l:x^(1+ ++l);}??>main(){t=&O;w=a();}

AUGH! I spent ages perfectly lining up the quill to put 5 dots in the eye in the "d" and then it converted to JPEG...
All ruined.

Anyway, I added "+ language" to the C and made Classhole sighing.
EDIT: Qoppa, haha, that's me. :P
EDIT EDIT: I turned the raptor into a friendlier "Before you meet me..." dino, w/ rider.
Also, some general cleaning up.
Hey, look! Someone drawing a person next to the d!
EDIT3: Awesome, it's the Existentialist. Here, have an ice cream.

Question about drawball: do you use it every day (with your measely 5%) and it goes up? Or do you not use it every day and it goes up. you know, accumulates.

Ink level goes up at (iirc) 1% of the pot an hour, regardless of usage. Though if you don't use it in ages, it forgets you and you go back to 5%.

You get more ink if you log in every now and then, up to 100%

Using small brushes uses a lot (as in, more than relatively) less ink than large brushes, I never use more than 3rd.

Some people claim you get ink faster when you have more ink (so going to 0% would be a bad idea) but I haven't confirmed this.

That's what I remember :P
