TIL That doing hourly comics day is ridiculously fun, even if it means I don't study for my midterms tomorrow (or even stay focused) nearly as much as I should.

Drawing two of them during a presentation on development on the iPhone was particularly fun. Hopefully my research boss (the postdoc I do undergraduate research for) didn't take offense. (It wasn't about him, but I do admit it probably didn't look like I was focusing as much as I should maybe have been.)
There's a method to my madness. Somewhere. Don't worry, I'll find it!

Today I learned that a backhoe can be used like a hammer, to pound big pillars into the ground. I also learned that doing so makes a noise that is quite loud, and can make the floor shake, especially if it is right outside the room one is in.

Today I learned that I left all of my bass tabs in Aberdeen. A whole folder plus two books. I couldn't have done the smart thing and put them in the specially designed pocket of my gig bag, could I? That would be far too easy.

I'm hoping that the last fact is related to the prior two, and the varnish in question was purpley?

TIL that someone who I thought was being cold and distant because she didn't like me is just a generally shy person (though you wouldn't think it). I intend to make an effort to become better friends with her.

TIAL that a lot of people actually look up to me. It was a scary thought, because I'm not proud of something I did a few days ago, but it made me feel happy. (And in general, I've given up on looking up to people. Most are flawed in some way.)

Yesterday I learned how well clothing can retain heat. I folded some laundry, fresh out of the dryer, before going to play hockey. Three and a half hours later, I pulled a shirt out of the middle of the pile, and it was still slightly warm.

TIL that no matter how many distractions you avoid while studying for a test, another will always pop up, with greater distractivity than the previous. Yes, its a word. The red underline is just Firefox's enthusiasm for it.
