Well, if you didn't eat so much junk food then you'd have been born with a functioning pancreas, wouldn't you?

(actually, I have no idea if it was a birth thing or surgery, but I like my argument so I'm keeping it)

Pedantry: you do still have a functioning pancreas, you can't live without one. It's just the insulin producing part that's broken. The rest of it still works.

What I'd do is squeeze in on the right there so the owner would have to crawl in through his passenger door.

Edit: forgetting of course that's probably a left-hand-drive car. Never mind.

I thought about squeezing in on the right anyway. But it probably would've scraped my car up.

I don't have a blowtorch. :(

The worst is that that was the last parking space in that lot.

Nah, I'd park close enough that he wouldn't be able to open it more than a few inches. You can't really get enough momentum from a car door in that distance to leave a decent dent. Also, my car is pretty shabby already; at this point, more dents simply add character.

I totally failed to notice that Foo Fighters are playing Japan in March, so didn't get tickets. And with it being in Japan, I can't just turn up on a whim and see if there are touts, because flights would be more than the tickets.

I'm hoping we get seriously good bands for Pentaport and Jisan Valley festivals this year...

(Obvious rant about something that just happened)
When you offer your help and insight to someone, despite preferring not to, you'd think they'd at least have the decency to discuss a plan of action. Some people will not only just not listen to you, they'll be offensively dismissive while demanding you to do exactly the way they want it. Furthermore, it's like watching a really slow crash... you have the insight to see that something will be a problem or there will be a better way of doing it, yet they demand to go ahead without saying the relatively minute amount of time to stop and consider the best plan of action. This is even despite the fact that your course of action has proved right in more than 95% of comparable cases.

Even worse is the fact that the reason for not considering the idea is urgent timing that is in direct contradiction due to the excessive amount of time they waste anyway. It's rather ironic that even if I didn't take time to think about the best course of action, both my immediate plan and actions would have still been faster than their attempts.

If you don't agree with someone, yet they're offering you their time, I think it's at least polite to listen to their input. Work can still be done at almost exactly the same rate even while discussing it.

Some people are just assholes. It's not even a case of "trying to help when you're not helping at all", which can be ambiguous.

I was going to write a long post about companies taking advantage of eager young graduates and slowly, slowly destroying their soul by not paying them a bean! Seriously, not even transport or lunch money, I've been there every day since October. This led to me having to take on a Christmas temping retail job. We all know how horrid retail is... retail at Christmas *shudder*

Instead I'll sum up what's really eating at me: I'm 24 and live with my parents and don't have the money to move out.

Do you mean that they actually don't pay you anything at all? And you've worked there since October? Or they just pay you very little? Because if it's the former, it sounds rather illegal. Either way it sounds like you need to be looking for a new job.

Technically I'm volunteering, so it's not illegal.
Spoke to big boss man today about transport - he said he's to check with accountants but it should be okay.
Problem is it's not really possible to just stroll into a new company and get a new job 'cause a) I'm in Ireland and we're... in a bit of trouble financially and b) I'm way better being there and having something to do every day than not being there. Also my superior person has loads of contacts and stuff and it's great experience for my C.V.

That's the problem with media - you have to be someone's b***h but be thankful for the opportunity because if you leave over crappy pay etc they'll just replace you with 1 of 500 others who would jump at the opportunity to be where you are. GRR!
