Who schedules a meeting for 3 PM on a Friday? A major dick, that's who. Especially since I had to stay late last night, and I have to work over the weekend.

If you have to work over the weekend, why does it matter that it's a Friday?

That's like someone organising a meeting for a Wednesday. Which is fairly normal

I haven't seen it yet* but the internet seems to say that it probably is about HP. Apparently the change was made with JKR's permission, but that probably doesn't mean much to many (including me). I'm sure google can help you out if you want more details.

But that's the catch, I don't want to spoil the movie if they did change it. That's why I can't google it! If I must rage then at least I can rage in the comfort of my friends and popcorn.

My friend saw the movie and asked me how the book ended (he had read it, but wanted to see what I remembered) and said that maybe he had to reread the books (this was after telling me that he'd thought they'd changed the ending).

Fuck fuck fuck. I got a great new job, right out of college. We schedule a few days that I can come in a train for a few hours while I'm finishing up the last two weeks of my current job. The last one was today. And I fucking forgot. I got a call from my boss while I was shopping. So embarrassing. I told him that I had been thinking it was Thursday all day. What a terrible first(-ish) impression. Now I need to be extra impressive when I start full time next week. I'm so disappointed in myself.

Okay, I know this is sort of #firstworldproblems, but I went to an ATM today to get cash. It was a bank I don't normally visit (my bank does business almost entirely online and has very few actual physical locations) and the ATM gave the option of "Fast Cash: $50". I selected it, and it gave me a $50 bill. What the fuck?

I was expecting it to give me 2 $20 bills and a $10 bill. I've never seen an ATM give large bills ($50s or $100s) before. It's very awkward (for me, at least; I don't know if other USians would agree) to carry around and do transactions with large bills.

I'm used to ATMs dispensing either yuppie food stamps (20$ bills) or 50$ bills. I cannot recall the last time I saw an ATM dispense anything smaller than a 20$ bill.

The annoying ones are the ones that take a 100$ withdrawl and turn it into two 50$ bills.

I'm used to ATMs only dispensing in increments of $20 and only in $20 bills. There are rare instances where I've seen ATMs give $10s and $20s. I have never been to an ATM that dispenses bills larger than $20.

Likewise, twenties only here. I can see why fifties would be rant-worthy, though - there are a fair number of places here that won't accept them due to the risk of counterfeits. Withdrawing money in a hard-to-use form would be something of a pain.

UK ATMs are 20s and 10s, normally (of course, 20 GBP is equivalent to 32 USD), although some have started giving out five pound notes recently; Korean ATMs normally give 10000 won notes (which is about 10 USD), but a few also dispense 50000s. I don't think a 20000 won note exists.

I find it awkward too. I don't like carrying around bills larger than twenties. I feel self conscious about handing a cashier a 50 dollar bill for a five or ten dollar purchase, I suppose because they might think I'm rich and trying to show off or something even though I'm not.

It's stupid. I know.

OK so I looked at this rant thread because it said it was rants. I love a good rant. Not whining bitches complaining, but real rants. #firstworldproblems, but why do we have four cutting boards? I suppose two could make sense, or possibly three if you do a ton of cooking... but there is no reason a household should have that many cutting boards.

One time when I was really little my mom set a hot cookie sheet on top of a cutting board. It melted a little and stuck to the sheet, so when she put it back in the oven it was still attached. It melted all over the oven (was actually kinda pretty, like modern art).
I explained to her what had clearly happened, but she refused to believe me and accused me of putting the cutting board in the oven. Because that's just something 7 year olds do, obviously. I got into a shitton of trouble for it. :/

Fucking hell. Fucking shitting cock-mangling snake-gripping ass-wrangling shitfucking son-of-a-horse-fucking hell.

I have 7 years of financial data to sort through. It's about half complete. There's a gap of no data from January 2006 to July 2007, which I am going to have to reconstruct from around 120 (illegible) deposit and disbursement slips. I just to reorder about 250 slips because no one has ever bothered to keep these in any sort of order before.

And there's jumps of several hundred dollars with no accompanying documentation.

It's not even 'creative' or unethical accounting. It's just gleefully ignorant.

And now it's my turn, and instead of passing the buck, I am going to set this fucker straight.

If you're going to limit the number of credits I can take a semester, then don't shove me in some ridiculous "mandatory" transfer seminar class that keeps me from taking classes I actually need. I've been in college for 2 years, I think I can handle myself.
