I work on the Panama schedule.

Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday
Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday

My shifts are twelve hours long.

It never fails that the night before I start a new work set, I either get very little sleep or I do not sleep at all. That still holds true today. I go to work in about an hour, and I haven't slept at all.

I'm going to be in a caffeine-induced haze all day today.

I keep reading this thread and relishing in everyone's rage.

Though I don't really feel like I can post myself. I don't ever feel angry enough. And when I do, (which is rare) I get maybe 1/3 of the way through typing it and then stop, cause I'm not really that angry. I may be way too quick to forgive people.

Is it bad that I can't hold a grudge? I don't really know what to make of it.

I do like reading this thread though. Really.

Woo! Time to spend the afternoon affixing labels on folders!

YMMV. You've been going out for longer than a month, right? And you're at an age where that is a reasonable thing to fantasize about, right? People who want to have kids and get married are lovely, wonderful people. I am simply not one of them, and get unreasonably pissy about it. Also, you and your girlfriend are probably in love. I'm in a weird situation where I just like her a lot but she's in love with me, and people being in love with me really disturbs me.

... I'm not sure if it's disturbing because I'm a screwball, or because other people are just disturbing in general. My gut reaction to being told "I love you" is usually: "... what? What the hell is wrong with you?!" so... I'm leaning towards "screwball".

They do, actually (in my district/jurisdiction, anyway), but it's sort of an escalation thing: you don't kick somebody off the bus unless they've shown themselves to be dangerous. Loud and obnoxious in the back seat? You get put in the front seat.

Insubordination can get you in-school or even out-of-school suspensions, depending on the situation. In this situation, it would probably also get you kicked off the bus. But don't ask me; I'm neither a bus driver nor an administrator.

So I recently tried out the pandora.com online radio service.
Their policy is that you can ban an artist from your station by giving a thumbs-down to two of their songs.

IF...

If you haven't thumbed-up any of their other songs.
This is a problem because I hate Metallica, but I admitted that I liked Unforgiven 2.

Now it keeps sending me more fucking Metallica. I just got two songs in a row. I thumbed one down and it literally sent me another immediately.
Something is fucking WRONG with their heuristics. Idiots. I'm going to go make my own Internet radio service, with blackjack, and hookers, and the ability to actually ban an artist without having to hate ALL of their songs.

After I do Operating Systems busyhomework.

Fuck. You. Stephanie. Meyer.

As a follow-up to my GRRRTWILIGHT rant a few pages back, I attempted to have a civil conversation with the person who was aggravating me so very very much. I explained *exactly* why I didn't want to hear about or read the damn books. I said I respected her opinion to love the books, I just didn't share the same view.

What happened?

My best friend is now my ex-best friend because, apparently, I have horrible taste in literature and am an anti-social freak who is against true love. .... <______________<

Yeah I know. But she wrote the book that's brainwashed soooo many teenage and tweenage girls. And mothers. >.< I have to take my rage out on someone. D:

I'm hoping its like a drug addiction. Eventually my friend will realize "Oh my, what an ass I've been", and we can get back to fixing what was a great 8 year relationship.

Well, assuming your friend isn't actually an idiot, they'll realize eventually they've made a jackass of themselves simply because you don't like something they do like, and will either apologize and move on, or just pretend it never happened. Either way works, really.

They may not be the best written books, but at least they've got people reading, which I see a sad lack of in younger people these days. If people enjoy it, let them - if they're being pricks about it, in either the sense of "Oh me yarm! It's awesome!" or "My, god, it's so crap! I've never read it, but it is!". If you've got an informed opinion on the book, great.

I know the brainwashed thing is a bit of hyperbole (or suspect it was, anyway), but there's still a big difference between the Twilight books and books that are merely "not the best written"...

But I thought that was what Dan Brown was for. For all he gets wrong, I'm at least unaware of the suggestion in any of his books that every girl should be so lucky as to have a creepy abusive stalker boyfriend or two.

It annoys me when people think "milestone" posts are special. It's not like getting to one is some amazing feat only a few people have accomplished. If you stay at least somewhat active on a forum, after some time, no matter how little you post, eventually you'll make it to 100 or 1000 or 4523 or whatever you were going for. Stop acting like it's a big deal. It's not.
