I think it is spelled Sierpinski. Anyone know if that's right?

*quietly reaches back through space and time and makes a careful twist.*

Now the incorrect spelling was never there.

I'm trying to figure out if the fact that there's one triangle missing has any intrinsic meaning.

Please help.

No, its the fact that more then one is missing that holds the meaning.

I'll be waiting for the essay on how these missing triangles changed your life on Tuesday.

I was busy doing my taxes yesterday (thank god I only owe $212) so I didn't have time to write the essay. I did take a second look and noticed a total of 3 triangles missing. I overlooked 2.

I still don't get the comic, but then there's a lot of things I don't get.

And since I'm now engrossed in the best kind of natural high (in the form of the silky sounds of Karen Carpenter) I'll have to put the essay off further.

The timeliness of my act of voluntary compliance will give you insight into the possible timeline of the requested essay.

In case you didn't know, the sierpinsky triangle is a fractal shape. The missing triangle is the interesting feature. The way you make the sierpinsky triangl is basically by taking a large triangle, dividing it into three equal triangles,(leaving out the center one) and then repeating on the three ones around the outside. This one just happens to not be shaded.

edit: I did not realize what you were referring to! Good sight to notice that.

I'll dock you (e^(days%Pi))*sin(days) points.

Also, include a fractal alg. to generate this fractal.

Actually, the TI-83 plus handbook has a program included to generate the Sierpinski triangle. I coded it in and have it on my calculator - worst wasted hours of my life. Actually, I don't think it's that long.

Whoa... Conspiracy! The image on that page of the Sierpinski triangle also has three extra tiny triangles missing!

I prefer using a random number generator to probabilisticly create the triangle. Entropy is the sorce of all great things.

whales, condors, and several other endangered species would not take kindly to that comment.
