Low: Nothing much. Still coughing a bit, went to work, nothing terribly low.
High: Won an internet for figuring how to pronounce Moo's name!
Mighty Jalapeno: "See, Zohar agrees, and he's nice to people."
SecondTalon: "Still better looking than Jesus."

High: Tickets finally booked for theatre! Yay!

Low: Having to give up two hours of my time to try and convince people who obviously weren't interested to continue learning Physics. Also, motivation is really low again today... It sucks going from exams straight to horrendous mountains of work again.

High: Really nice oyster po'boy at one of my favourite eateries.
Low: Looks like I'll have to switch back to teaching at the end of this semester; I won't get any more research money (not that much of a problem; I love teaching).

High: Physics midterm didn't seem all that bad. In fact, it seemed...almost easy.
Low: The knowledge that if the midterm seemed easy, I was probably missing something.

High: coming up with a solution for my non-inertial wave equation.
Low: Realizing that it doesn't work.
So, I got tired of the fact that the appearance of my band name in my signature made my posts on this forum the dominant result when googling for my music. Anyway, if you think I might happen to be a good musician, you can test this theory here.

We frozen midwesterners do NOT want to hear about it. Current temp here is -8 Fahrenheit, windchill is -27 Fahrenheit.

For my high, however, I just discovered one of my favorite bands will be playing at my college this spring.

High: actually getting some work down. feeling either manic, green tea happy (i have a very low caffeine tolerance), or genuinely happy right now, either of three ways its a good feeling
low: how crappy i was feeling earlier... also the fact that my science symposium mentor has been ungetaholdable, and i need to finish my symposium paper... soon...

High for yesterday: Going to be part of a medical experiment, have my head scanned in an MRI machine, get to keep the CD and receive 40$ for it.
Low: Friend's date seems to be avoiding him. He's sad which makes me kind of sad.

High: I finally convinced 7 of the 8 people in Finance that we need the cut machine I've been trying to order.

Low: The 8 #%)* person shot it down, cause it would take 6 months for the machine to pay for itself.

I hate the red tape monster.

High: Went in to help man the station advertising the International Baccalaureate in my school, which was cool for three reasons: 1) I got to enthuse for quite a while about the IB 2) I get 3-4 hours of Service time from it 3) I finally get a useful mouse mat for my computer.

Low: Feel slightly guilty about skipping English today because I would be home for the rest of the day. Slightly.

A pretty cool day, all in all.

Fairbanks?

High: Finding out my physics professor this semester isn't a bad teacher.
Low: Going to the store the same time as high schoolers had their lunch, and seeing two who could undoubtedly rend me limb from limb should the fancy take them. Kinda freaky.

This neatly sums up why I avoid IRC like the plague these days.

High: Found out a cute girl I met at an event we were working at at a local science museum thought I was, quote, "really freaking attractive, with a wonderful smile".

No. Well, in a way, maybe, but it would be completely complicated and wouldn't make any sense to try and explain it, so let's just leave it at 'no'.

High point(s): A professor paid for tonight's pizza dinner for 16 of us, myself included. Free pizza and a good time, yay. I also found a nice gray vest to go with my suit at the thrift store.

Low point: I really suck at remembering kanji.

High: Having people over tonight for a guitar hero party... and introducing my new girlfriend to all my friends...

except...

Low: I'm fucking angry beyond anything I've ever been before. I was left a message a girl friend who's boyfriend dumped her last night... Which wouldn't normally get me that pissed off, but she had just moved all the way across Ontario last week to be with him, dropping everything here for him (this was three years since they had started dating). Gah. I'm still restraining myself from getting in the car and driving there to beat the shit out of him (well, that and the fact its a six hour drive).

Low: Large fight last night, of which you will be spared the details.

High: In pictorial form:

I say try to find out the motive from him. If it's the slightest bit dodgy, sketchy, assholish, selfish or other negative adjective, then beat the shit out of him. Personally, I'm all for percussive justice (only in certain cases though - this being one).

Heh, I remember 'percussive maintenance' being used in Doctor Who (10th I believe) but I came up with the term a while ago but had since forgotten what went in front of the -ive. Until now!
