I haven't driven in about 2 years. I dread to think what I'll be like when I get behind the wheel again...

I went about 5 years between passing my driving test and getting back behind the wheel of a car. I didn't crash.

About three or four months passed between me doing any driving and me taking the driving test (which I totally passed first try anyway)... and since then it's been about 5 months and I haven't driven since.

Once of these months I'm going to actually get a car, honest.

We were discussing the possibility of a camper van holiday next year, and who would be comfortable driving...I said I would, but no one seemed to like the idea of me behind the wheel after 3 years of no driving, and weren't entirely convinced by my argument that actually I'd be the safest driver because I'd be concentrating more and would be less likely to accidentally go on the wrong side of the road without thinking about it.

I might start driving again before then, though, as we're looking at getting a new car that I might be able to just about afford insurance for...

It's really common because new drivers get quoted insane insurance premiums they can't afford - like a year's worth of insurance costing 5 times what the car is worth. So they can't have a car for several years.

Yeah...I started driving at 15 and a half. I'm 21 now. Still no license. I'm working on it...I'm probably going to get it when I go to my dad's next month.

After I passed my test I drove for about 6 months, but when I went to uni there was no point paying the ridiculous insurance costs just to use the car when I'm home less than half the year, and I certainly can't afford a car of my own as well as insurance (not to mention the fact that there's absolutely no need for a car in Durham).

That can't be right! I eat peanut butter on a nigh-constant basis! I am the laziest vegan.

Wait, maybe the idea is to offer the peanut butter to Gog instead of recklessly scarfing it. :o YOU JUST BLEW MY MIND!

How's Gog supposed to eat if you don't leave it on the ceremonial paper plate on your bedroom window still for ten minutes in a gesture of offering before you eat it yourself (I mean, Gog's not wasteful)? Gog needs that happythoughtmojo sandwich to gain strength and followers!

Also, milk, but you can just mutter the prayer of offering (Gog, Gog, you're so fine you blow my mind. So have some milk) over the glass before drinking it yourself.

Fortunately, they are doing their best to make gaming hell on Windows. Installing new PC games is a Kafkaesque nightmare consisting of hours of installing suspicious software and giving away your personal information to untrusted parties.

Installing GTA4 for Windows took FOUR HOURS (excluding the download and actual install-time), and involved giving away my personal information to two parties (Microsoft and Rockstar), installing two pieces of DRM/crippleware (GFWL and Rockstar Social Club) ON TOP OF STEAM, installing countless updates to said pieces of software, and a series of hotfixes to windows.
I edit my posts a lot and sometimes the words wrong order words appear in sentences get messed up.

Also, it's hard to eat a peanut-butter sandwich without becoming paranoid that someone is secretly trying to make me eat a pill. I have to watch the door so that she won't run in, hold my mouth closed and start rubbing my throat until I swallow the bite.

From Darths and Droids
Sometimes gamers get together every week and play intense sessions where they interact and support one another's actions, striving to achieve a common goal in the best spirits of teamwork. And yet they don't know what their fellow gamers do for a living. Or other pertinent stuff that more mundane types of friends readily know about one another.

That guy who plays the elf ranger in your group every week, who you've known for 4 years? Next time you see him, ask him what his last name is.

...

If it wasn't for e-mail and how everyone has their names as their identifiers, I.. likely wouldn't know the last names of several of the people I've played D&D with for the past.. oh, 8 years, give or take.
