I won't let this die!

Why is it that I can make up long ten minute conversations with potential girl friends in my head, but when the situation actually comes I forget it all and just return her questions/keep silent...

Oh well.

Real conversations with other people are never as interesting as the ones I make up.

...I make up conversations with people all the time.

I usually forget them after I realize it wouldn't work, because I can't articulate myself as well as I can in my head, and most are not smart enough to generate the responses I assigned them.

It makes me sad, I don't do it anymore very often, as the only person I could come up with appropriate responses for is so unpredictable that I never actually come up with an accurate response.

I make up conversations with people all the time but I never actually have them because I am too afraid to actually talk to the person most of the time. That does not stop me from having some of the most out-there conversations of this century though! :D

Edit: Just to clarify, when I said out there conversations I meant the ones I have in real life. the ones I can't bring myself to start are the meaningful ones.

The only person I know who isn't family or xkcd (same thing, right?), who is even remotely geeky is my drama teacher. :(

I have a close friend who's geeky enough, and reads xkcd...
But refuses to sign up to the fora, which is a little annoying, and decreases geekiness by 6 units.

And I also do the conversation thing, but generally don't even get into the situation I would need to have such conversations.

And as something completely unconnected to teh rest of the thread: I'm starving, especially as I've just been having an msn conversation about sausages and bacon.

The other day I was at a rock concert and in between acts I noticed that, as is almost always the case with a large group of people talking, I could not pick out individual conversations very easily. A lot of this is due to the voices of the people in the room cancelling out/augmenting each other. Right then as the next band was setting up I thought "wow, it'd be cool to use those randomly placed peaks/troughs in sound as a random number generator.

The other day I said to a friend that I don't really talk to myself. Since I said that I have come to realize- I do nothing BUT talk to myself. I just hadn't realized it.

While sitting in my school's (extraordinarily long) lunch line, I suddenly had the idea to turn the slinky I got in first period into an electromagnetic coil gun. A large metal coil, magnetized a certain way, preferably superconductive, and bullets that change their magnetic polarity at preset intervals would be needed.

Oh, and I do the making up conversations thing, too. Probably too much.

Good to hear I'm not alone in making up conversations.

I'm a documentation freak. I keep a diary where I write down everything that's happened every day on a full A4 sheet of paper with 5mm lines. I save all my school note books. I've written down the stories behind all the songs I've written so I'll never forget. The only major thing I don't really do is photograph stuff.

I thought I was the only one who made up conversations with other people, regardless if they'd actually work or not. I usually talk to myself a lot, so if I'm going to discuss something that's on my mind, I try to pretend that I'm talking to a certain person. I usually tell myself "if so-and-so and I were talking one night about such-and-such and he/she said blah-blah..."

Sometimes the thoughts can run for a long time.

I'll generally just do it with myself, holding up one side of the conversation in my head and the other out loud (though usually quietly) in a voice different from the one I habitually speak in.

Everytime I see keozen's headbobbing cat avatar, I want to pet that cat, and perhaps also say "You're a kitty!".

You are carrying:
- a slightly paranoid Android
- two left feet (not my own)
- a still unfed and very hungry hippo
- broadsword of +5 ridiculousness stained with the blood of the undead souls
- a stetson Resistol, cuz stetson Resistols are cool.
