Rang the doorbell, no one answered. Meh. I'm too much of a pussy to get into a full blasting war, anyways, so I'll just take shelter under the covers. There was already a thread about this, but fortunately this is the first time it's occurred personally.

I need to sleep, but instead I'm here at the fora.
Bought new earbuds today. They're awesome. And loud.
Also, loud, strange noises outside.

Do you ever get the urge to not sleep even though you know you need to? I feel so alive at night. I love the peacefulness found at night. I think more clearly. I feel like the night is mine to own. And yet, I realize that I need to go to sleep so I can not be dead for work in the morning. Ugh.

Take adult education classes to become a vampire? Or a night watchman. Or both. Someone should totally write that novel.

I used to stay up all night (back when MJ had no kids) because... I could. Because my neighborhood at 4am was somehow more fun than my neighborhood at any other time. Because sunrises start when the sky is still black. Because the best shows are on. Because I feel more comfortably alone knowing that everyone else is comfortably asleep. I'd listen to The Black Album on the sidewalk, and just read under a streetlight. I did my best writing then.

Also, thanks to you, the seed for that book has been planted. Dick.

WOAH. WOAHHHHHH.

I was watching Doctor Who (Season One, Episode 8, Father's Day) and they're in a car with the radio playing in the 80's. What song's on the radio?

Never Gonna Give You Up.

The BBC just rickrolled me.

Stages of me staying up too late online:

1. I begin to make egregious typos in my IM conversations
2. I lose my inhibitors and steer the conversation (IM or otherwise) towards awkward things.
3. My vision goes blurry.
4. My vision goes even more blurry.
5. Last inhibitors go and I steer the conversation towards things that don't even make sense.
6. The sun rises.
7. I go to sleep.

Hanging out around step 4, but it's a rapid descent from here.
Raise up the torch and light the way.

I don't want to be at work today. I could totally skip, too.

But upper management is holding a goodbye lunch for me today. They don't do that for people who are going back to school. So I must be appreciative and go.

Besides, I can always skip tomorrow.

RT: I have designed my best character yet. She's an alien who's society has a completely tactile language. She's autistic with a fair sprinkling of Asperger's and hates being touched. She has a huge obsession with martial arts and goes through every move and sequence she knows of each style in ascending order every day. She watches kung fu films and martial arts instructions tapes and copies the movements with her visual acuity. It's only a matter of time of her exposure to human culture before she finds out about ninjas...

Autistic alien ninjaaaa!

Oh yeah, by the way, I'm back home now and have been for a few days. I went scuba diving and it was exponential. I went snorkelling a lot and my back was covered in yellow blisters. Now it's covered in scaly, dry skin that is slowly peeling off. Isn't sunburn fun?

By the way, I bought another Megadeth shirt. It has a demon on the front, I wasn't allowed to wear it to church. I wore it to uni today (Not /to/ uni, but to uni.) and noone sat next to me on the train even though it was packed. Life is quite wonderful.

I like penguins. I wanted some to take into my maths lectures with back in first year, because the room was bloody well refrigerated. I don't like people who make animals wear clothes, though.

I think I am pretty much a stereotypical engineer... Most things which don't have any kind of practical purpose (in my view) I tend to think of as silly. I over analyse everything. I use logic too much.

The problem with all this, and my cynicism is that I am just becoming more and more anti-social...
