I'm trying to write an analysis of "The Chicken Which Became a Rat".... except... I have absolutely no idea what the story is trying to say.

The story is trying to tell us to be more careful with all that radioactive waste.

Also, I just spent about 10 minutes wondering what I'd been looking at for the previous ten minutes. I need a(nother) hobby.

I get far too excited by folders, pencil cases, and stationary in general. I had a five minute discussion with my friend in the store about paper.

Paper:

It's off-white, but can be dyed to almost any colour (not octarine, sorry)
It's made from pulped wood, or maybe more paper if you're into recycling
You can write on it
You can cut it up
You can fold it up
You can do any combination of the above three
You can eat it as a not bad source of fibre (newspaper's apparently best for this), although it's pretty tasteless, like most of my jokes (I'm bad at jokes)
It flaps about in the wind
You can break rulers with it using SCIENCE
Paper cuts (cuts obtained through slicing self with paper) hurt like hell
Four
You can write lists about it
When you wet it, blank sheets turn clear (unless they're quite thick), then fall apart into mush
Grease can do the above, too

And that's pretty much all I can say about paper.

Oh, wait, I forgot about size (A4, A5, A3... not forgetting B-sizes as well).
And you can make walls from it.

It is dead interesting, but the conversation really needs to build up to it. Just saying "talk about paper" would leave me speechless.

One of my greatest wishes is to walk around with a cellphone headset that's not attached to anything. I think it would be great fun for all involved. I could speak loudly into it, and I imagine the scene would go something like this:

Clarbri: *speaks loudly into unconnected headset*
Crowd: Is that guy crazy? Oh, no, wait, he's just talking on the phone.
Clarbri: *lets unconnected end of headset dangle out of pocket*
Crowd: No, wait, he is crazy!

Why do so many people say that speed cameras are a deep evil that plagues the driver? Here's an idea: Stay below the speed limit and you won't have a problem. Sheesh.

People don't like being limited. Every limit placed upon you adds to your stress.

Would that not cause people to complain about the speed limit? Cursing speed cameras seems to scream "Well, I wouldn't have broken the law if I knew anyone would catch me!". I've even seen products that supposedly tell you when you're approaching a speed camera, presumably so that you can quickly slow down. While I agree that limits add stress, the speed limits are there for a good reason, and I find it strange how people regard being punished for ignoring them.

The speed limits are there for a reason, but since breaking them is rarely punished, it isn't really felt as a limit, so cursing them rarely happens. But breaking the speed limit at a camera is usually punished, so the limit is felt much more strongly, so the cursing happens more frequently.

Most speed limits are set far too low, and everyone knows it. Drive the speed limit if you want, but I guarantee you'll be tailgated *constantly*, and constantly swerved around.

Speed cameras, however, cause *all* of traffic to suddenly slow down and clog everything up and generally makes everything stupid.

The worst is that the speed limit thing is self-perpetuating: they're set far too low, so everyone goes 10 or 15 mph over the limit, but they can't raise the limits to more accurately reflect the safe limit on that road, because as soon as you raise the limit, people will still assume they should be going 10 or 15 over.

Maybe they should start replacing all the "45" signs with "55. Seriously" signs, so you can tell the difference.

I have always been paranoid of cops and stuck to the "no more than 7 over"..

but upon the vehement assurance of my cousin that cops NEVER ever EVER went down a particular back road, I pushed it up to 70, and only slowed to about 40 for the curves. It was both terrifying and exhilarating.

I'm writing a manual entitled "How to Have a Successful Spring Break in the Czech Republic: A Guide for College Students"(ungodly long name huh?) for my advanced technical writing class. I'm a Computer Science major. Why is writing this technical manual more fun for me than programming?

I know that learning to drive should not be so scary to me, but a lot of my friends have been hurt recently by idiot drivers in the state of Texas (no offense to the safe drivers in the state of Texas), and that makes me worried for what I might do. I don't feel right when i'm not in control of everything. And everything in this situation is on the road.

That would be effective, since epsecially around here, EVERYONE knows everyone.

"So, I was going 60 when this guy in a blue pickup passed me." "Did it have the back right window duct-taped over?" "No?" "What about the taillights. Were they duct taped in?" "Yeah..." "Oh, okay, that was _____"......
