### Thanks xkcd, you helped me study for an html midterm

The main page source allowed me to find an image with lots of attributes so I could determine what happens when you put two width things in it.

EDIT: It looks at the first one and ignores the second one.

Thank you xkcd, you helped me study for my algebra midterm.

This picture has taught me that the superscript 2 on a formula is actually a footnote, and that I need to correctly place references in my equations.

So now when I am asked to use the quadratic formula, x = (-b +/- sqrt(b2 -4ac))/2a, I know now that I should be writing underneath this line: 2. b is the coefficient from +bx.

I see no superscript 2 here

Cause I'm not sure how to write superscripts with RandallBB.

With the button farthest to the right, labelled 'sup'

It's called phpBB, and the last button to the right allows for superscript. Likethis.

Talking to me like I'm some kind of forum noob. Hint: I've been a phpBB/vBulletin user since before you were in diapers.

A) I told you where the button was because you asked, and I put my entire thing in superscript because it was amusing;
B) It's not RandallBB, and maybe your sarcasm isn't appreciated;
C) Maybe I hit reply before you edited your post, and didn't come back to press 'submit' until later, and maybe the fora don't dynamically update while you're in the reply box;
D) vBulletin and phpBB were released in 2000, while I was out of nappies nearly a decade before that;
E) Maybe I saw the part quoted, and saw you say that you didn't know how to use it and, believe it or not, decided to help!

Maybe instead of being a condescending arse to other people, you could perhaps be a little charitable in reading tone and assume they're trying to help you. Hell, Weeks didn't even say anything remotely sarcastic.

Edit: mixed two people up, doesn't change my point.

Or maybe (and the correct option) you were just being an overzealous servant who doesn't recognise an obvious bad excuse.

Dude. Yurell was being helpful. Ok, maybe you were just offering a bad excuse rather than actually wanting help, but that still doesn't mean Yurell's the douche here. Either thank them for trying to help or shut up about it, don't complain about them not magically reading your intentions over the internet.

If this is a vote, I vote that teelo was being an arse. Even in the initial post there's wasn't much interesting.

Anyway, I'm glad this forum helped you, gd1!
