tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon? I'm seeing some friends then so I probably won't be there.
Next Saturday, 1pm, flagstaff gardens sounds good

Is there an age limit?

I'm only (nearly) 16 and I think I'll feel rather 'out of touch' with most of you...

That said I probably won't come. I'd like to know though.

Seconded. If you are able to get there, do so. No-one has suggested any 18+ events.

I'm only 17 and a lot of my friends are 16, so don't worry. Come! It'll be fun and we enjoy not understanding half of what we're saying.

Okay, so I'm in Melbourne right now. I'll be walking around St Kilda tonight around six. Other than that if anyone wants to hang out just post a where and when some time before Friday (Family things to do tomorrow night and Friday night and Saturday) and I'll see if I can attend.

(Oh, and Vegemite is pretty good stuff.)

What area of the park should we meet up in? I'm not very familiar with flagstaff gardens, so are there any convenient landmarks where we could all go to help find each other?

I'm probably in, unless any personal situations get in the way.

You won't be 'out of touch', I'm 16 and I'm bringing a few friends my age.

Er... good point. Howzabout close to the train station exit? Everyone who has xkcd shirts or something should wear them to make themselves indentifiable, (+ awesome) sadly though, I am not one of them. I'll probably be wearing a shirt that says "SHIT HAPPENS" in big writing.

Seeing as I have no better idea near the train station exit sounds good. I do not have a xkcd tshirt, so I will wear a hat.

I will be there wearing a pinstripe jacket and a white and green shirt with a green tie. All I need is directions to hop a train to Elsternwick Station to arrive in Elsternwick some time before 4:30 or so.

This should help you out. There's a train leaving Flinders street station at 4:13 that'll get you to Elsternwick by 4:27. :)

Also, your outfit sounds awesome.

Nice! I was actually wondering what to wear this morning. I was thinking a suit (I haven't worn a suit in months) with my Green Hat.

I'll have my camera. Hopefully I'll have batteries, too.

I might be coming. Not that confident on the trams for a trip like that.

Um, is everyone going to be wearing wacky suits?

Seriously I'm just wearing a shirt and jeans.

How long will the event take?

Um, I won't be there wearing a wacky suit. I'll be at the Sydney meet-up this weekend, probably wearing a wacky suit. I will be in Melbourne in a fortnight or so, not sure exactly when, not sure exactly what I'll be wearing.

So someone else will have to take photos for parka.

I'll be wearing pretty average clothes.

I'll also have my camera with me, to capture the potentially wacky suits of others.

I will be coming straight from a dancing exam, so I will be dressed up anyway. I will see people tomorrow.

PS: Thanks for mentioning about the train station, I did not even know that (I avoid PT whenever possible).

we sat in a circle and chatted about hats, velociraptors, jobs, uni, school, comics, forums (fora?), videogames, philosophy, religion, death, politics, films er...
we put together a picnic of sorts with stuff from IGA, then at the end a few of us snacked at Max Brenners. It was a wonderful way to spend an afternoon, and I'll say it again xkcd people are awesome people! all we need is more of you to turn up next time.

Yes, was terribly fun. Would do again. Especially late next week. I'm going to be around for more entertainment Wednesday evening (plane gets in at 4:30 and I may just take a bus into the city) and totally free Thursday and Friday. I was thinking of hitting the history of video games exhibit?

Are we talking about the 'Game On' exhibition at ACMI? It's on until Sunday 13th of July.
It is a school night, but I'm sure we could all spare some time for new friends.

Hmm. I'd only be available thursday and friday. I'd like to go to see all of you lovely people again, but I'm not really into gaming, so I probably won't get as much from the exhibit as others.
