No Repeats

Postby JBJ » Fri Jan 27, 2012 8:00 pm UTC

I'm not sure if this game already exists, or goes by a specific name.

Here's the game -
Guess the what the previous player entered, then give your own entry.

Rules -
Type any name, word, or phrase, but when entering it you can't repeat any letters once they are used. Keep spaces between words, though.

For instance, "Harry Potter" would become "Hary Pote"
"Norman Rockwell" would become "Norma ckwel"

Each word in a phrase must be represented by at least one letter. If word(s) repeat in a phrase, like "To be or not to be" it can't be used, or "All that glitters is not gold" can't be used because the "is" gets taken out by the "i" and "s" in glitters.

There shouldn't be any need for confirmation from the previous poster, as long as the guess follows the rules, so there could potentially be multiple interpretations.

I'll get it started:

Misty ouna Hp
So, you sacked the cocky khaki Kicky Sack sock plucker?
The second cocky khaki Kicky Sack sock plucker I've sacked since the sixth sitting sheet slitter got sick.

I posted a similar game to this, right about a year ago around the time I first started actively posting here. (I also didn't know what to call it or if it already had a specific name. :P) The only difference was that you pick a single letter and delete every instance of it, like removing all the As from "Alabama". Perhaps I'll link to it later, I'm posting from my phone right now. </bragging> :D

Beware the ides of March

Go ahed mk y d

For me, the idea for this game came from a hangman game on my mobile. I usually play the movie titles category and there is a clue option. A variation I made for myself is to read the clue first, then look at the word lengths and see if I can figure it out from only that. Then I try to fill in the title from the beginning. For instance if the clue was "To boldly go..." and the letter places were _ _ _ _ | _ _ _ _ , I'd know it was Star Trek, and I'd type in the letters "starek" to complete the puzzle. Then I thought it might be interesting if others could figure out the answer only from what was typed. I'm considering dropping the requirement to keep spaces. I think that might make it too easy.

Well, I was going to say:
she remembers every welsh that shouts "Wall Street is doing it"

But then I read the rules and your answer to mine doesn't follow the rule that "Each word in a phrase must be represented by at least one letter."

So guess again!

So, in response to Snark's one that didn't get a correct response:

I would also attempt Adam H's one, but he repeated the "e".
