Hadn't meant that last one to be a thread killer--that's why I posted coordinates.

(Are you sure you have the coordinates right? The closest cities to that location that show up on Google are Vantaa, Ilola, Kylmäoja, and Asola. I don't speak Finnish, but to me none of those look to be similarly pronounced to the word GLaDOS.)

No, that's Gladas (I copied and pasted the coordinates into google and it was the third one--I'll try to be less obscure next time). GLaDOS stands for Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System, and is a fictional artificially intelligent computer system in Valve Software's Portal and Portal 2.

Sordid, for want of a better description, is the opposite of "saw alive".

No, silly, that's shorten. Sordid is "Involving ignoble actions and motives; arousing moral distaste and contempt".

On an unrelated note, does anyone know what a "badger" is?

Hmm, that might be a spuggie, or even a budgie (which is actually more similar to a parakeet), but I don't think that's a badger. A badger is someone that works with the cashier at a grocery store.
