Is Heathrow 5 permitted, or do all moves have to have been legal when the game began?

Mornington Crescent

Only legal from someone playing it after a 3-year hiatus, looks like I could have won this game since January.

Well worth being absent.

Thanks. Depends on the rules. Remember last proposed rules made me quit the forum for eons so I'd rather have something fun this time around. Something where some random guy can't just jump in and play Mornington Crescent and the hard work of the other players get wasted. Any ideas?

Hey, thanks patzer! I'll always remember our epic chess-boxing match, I think it marked the golden age of forum games for me

As for the next game, I propose to play the Nintendo Switch Port of Mornington Crescent mixed in with Monopoly rules (diceless version).

The rules for the Switch are simple:

Any foul moves made during the course of play are rejected by a condescending Princess Peach Toadstool that looks at you and says a different dialog every time, such as "please learn to play Mornington Crescent before continuing" or "if I knew this was going to be my life, I'd have married Bowser..."

The rules for Monopoly Crescent are a bit more complex:

A giant Monopoly board is built around the London Underground system (not to scale), turning every space into a station, making them legal locations to move to, disconnected from the Northern line (so that it remains challenging to reach Mornington Crescent, usually more challenging than in the original game). Instead of using dice, players move to the new stations in the same way as in Mornington Crescent. Everyone can choose a token and starts on the GO Station with $1500. Everyone is a Banker.

Luckily for us, the giant Monopoly board was finished in 2017, though no game with this ruleset has been played yet (work for this started on 22 August 1978, apparently after it was done interest had waned and most people forgot why was it built), we could be the first ones.

If people agree to this, I'll pick out the Blue Zombie Cat-Peacock Hybrid That Apparently Looks Like A Pokémon Token, unless someone else wants it more badly than me.

I'll take the pink flower token that has blonde hair for some reason. Are there cards in this version?

Yeah, there's Chance stations and Community Chest stations around the board:

(Note: remember this is not to scale, if it were, monopoly spaces would be very tiny - they're actually on the center of the boundary of the spaces, or on the inside corners of the GO/Jail/Free Parking and Go To Jail spaces)

I'll play:

Park Place

And buy it. Looks like I'll be able to walk to Boardwalk next turn and have my first Monopoly.

I'll play Water Works and buy it. I now flood Boardwalk making it virtually worthless.

:(

What a cruel, cruel maneuver.

So I'll go to Electric Company via States Avenue. And buy it.

Now I cause Rosewinsall to get a Power Outage! Take that!

I move to Chance and draw a card. It says All blue tokens move to King's Cross or pay half their money to the bank, their choice.

Pic of the card:

I wish they had made some "King's Cross" graphic instead of reusing the go to jail one.

I move to King's Cross.

Please note: I did it by my own volition, not to avoid paying half my money to the bank. But I guess the difference is unnoticeable.
