Lyric Genre Change

Postby malec2b » Wed Jan 23, 2008 5:45 am UTC

Alright, so I came up with a forum game. Someone posts some lyrics from a song along with the style/genre that music comes from and the song that it's from. The lyrics can be anything from one line to one verse (don't post a whole song unless it's really short). The next poster then changes words in the lyrics to make them fit with another genre. For example

Original: "Dream on, on to the heart of the sunrise" (Heart of the Sunrise by Yes) Prog Rock
Hard Rock: "Rock on, on to the heart of the fire"
Space Rock: "Fly on, on to the heart of an atom"

Then the poster posts another lyric.

I'll start with:

"The captian leads his dance right on through the night" (Dancing with the Moonlit Night by Genesis) Prog Rock

Power Metal: "The Wizard leads his army right on through the night"

"I walk among this pantheon to gather up the stars" (Morgion, "Canticle"), Doom Metal
So, I got tired of the fact that the appearance of my band name in my signature made my posts on this forum the dominant result when googling for my music. Anyway, if you think I might happen to be a good musician, you can test this theory here.
