Conversation with Syllable Limits.

Postby Cradarc » Thu Feb 19, 2015 5:33 am UTC

Each post must contain one more syllable (in the English language) than the previous post. The goal is to maintain a coherent conversation.
For example:
"Hi."
"Hello!"
"How is life?"
"Oh nothing much."
"I don't believe you".

I'll start:

Yo, sup?

It's easier to pick up on it when you're face-to-face.

But face to face sarcasm puts you at risk of getting punched.

Your mom jokes AND your face jokes at the same time?

No. Your mom jokes are only funny with copious amounts of science or math.

But that just seems too elitist to me. Can't we just have jokes that everyone can get?

<moderation>I think there were some posts that are one syllables off, but oh well. Try to be as precise as possible, although it will get harder as the count goes up.<moderation>

I think everyone except me is an elitist. Does that make me an elitist as well?

I have nothing against pleasant peasants. Their earthy banters are amusing. Unpleasant ones, however...

But don't the unpleasant peasants have a valid grievance against their liege lords? We must consider their viewpoint.

I don't actually feel like counting, but that seems like way too many ha's. Meh. (Is meta-discussion allowed here?)

Meta-discussion is allowed if it is relevant. I think people are using syllable counters, which aren't precise.

Whoa, you just blew my mind: how is a discussion "meta" if it's irrelevant? Is that question pedantic? Am I a pipe? :P

I think "meta" in this case refers to being about the conversation, but relevance is to its goals. They're orthogonal.
