Where In The World Is Vytron? 7 - CBusAlex wins!

Postby Vytron » Sat Mar 16, 2013 3:50 am UTC

Welcome to where in the world! The game where I pick a location in the world (covered by Google Maps's Street View), and you ask questions until you find where I am.

Rules
  • I am lost somewhere in the world, and you must find me!
  • I will post a screencap taken from Google maps street view with any information regarding my location edited out
  • Everyone else has exactly twenty yes or no questions to ask me in order to find out where I am
  • Each question asked must be seconded by at least two other people (for a total of three supporting it) before I will answer it
  • The first person to guess my exact latitudinal and longitudinal coordinates and/or post a Google maps street view screencap matching mine wins the game
  • The winner then picks the next location, uploads an image, and answers questions

I wonder if it'd break the game if I started posting more pictures like Wide View, Side View, Front View of my location?... I mean, surrounding buildings?

maybe make it so only two people have to support a question before it is answered? Not as many people seem to be interested now :( We can't really find it even with surrounding buildings, unless the range is narrowed down.

Don't second or third this if you don't want to, but instead of geography, how about...

Is this building government owned?

I doubt Vytron knows that, though. It's just a building he found on google maps.

Yes.

maybe make it so only two people have to support a question before it is answered?

How about, if a question is asked and nobody has disagreed with it/asked a different question/I haven't answered another and 24 hours have passed, I answer it? (then, in my last post I'd have answered the question even though it only had your support)

How does the rules react to it if he doesn't know the answer?

Huh, I guess I'd answer I don't know, but that wouldn't decrease your question count! (so, to save time: I don't know :P - but if someone has maps that have government owned buildings of the world, I'd look into it)

I played the ones with Phrozt and Kaimason ages ago and you're doing it wrong!

One question at a time dudes :P If you ask two questions at once, especially ones that contradict, you waste your options.

We have it narrowed down to Chile or the British Isles.

patzer wrote:Are you in England?

Disagree, that's too specific at this stage. Lets try and narrow it down a little more before we get that specific.

Are you in Chile?

Edit - Vytron, keep track of the answered questions in your OP too :)

If no one supports a question, you just get a new question asked. Don't answer it.

We can only ask yes/no questions, so it should be easy enough for him to know. Try and stick to geography related questions though. Ones he may not know the answer to, probably shouldn't be agreed upon.

Ah, that was actually me being sneaky because at some point I answered a question without enough support to speed up the game. But when Are you in the EU or Chile? was asked the answer to Are you in the USA or Canada? was already known (and thecamoninja thirded Are you in the USA or Canada? after it was answered to get the game in sync.)

The person who asks the question doesn't normally count towards the total. We could change that, but that's not how it went in the past.

Mostly it's just that when I made the revival thread I couldn't remember whether it was three or four people total that needed to support a question, and I couldn't be bothered to check an older thread, so I just went with three - four seems kind of excessive, and this way the game moves faster.
