I can see non-existant threads

I see dead people threads.

I appear to be able to see various threads that when I click on them, I get the error that the thread does not exist.

I'm guessing that these are threads that the OP deleted, but it may also be threads by new posters than need approval, or a combination.

e.g. In the Mathematics forum, theres Proof of Non-existence of Odd Perfect Numbers which is by yalc, who has no posts according to his profile.

While it's not really a big deal, the forum still considers such threads as "unread", and trying to view them doesn't get rid of the unread status. I'm pretty sure clicking on the ole "mark topics as read" button marks those threads as read, but that potentially marks things I will want to read later (i.e. things where approval is pending but it's legit) as read so I'm a little reluctant to do so.

I guess this is mainly as an FYI for the mods/admins in case it's something that can be easily fixed, but I'm guessing I'll just have to get used to it.

It depends on what you mean by "them". If by them, you mean "links to the various non-existant threads from the thread list", then I can still see them even now. If by "them" you mean "the actual contents of the threads", then I can't see that.

Alright, that was a premature lock then, sorry.

Did anything happen between the time of my OP and your post to lead you to believe it would've been fixed?

Just in case there was a behind the scenes fix or something, such so that all new threads that are deleted/unapproved* don't show up for me, but the ones I originally saw (and can still see) stick around as an artifact, or something along those lines.

Are there any forums with a no-longer-existing thread made in the last dozenish hours I could check via?

*=I still don't know if this is indeed the source of these non-existing threads, or if there might be other reasons.

A lot is happening right now. The forum's software is being updated, so stuff is going on pretty much all the time.

Ah, so that must be why styles/subsilver2/imageset/xkcdLogo_transparent.png is kaput at the moment.

Fixed now?

Oh yes, very much so, thanks.

(I still don't quite get why the default theme at forums.xkcd.com uses styles/prosilver/imageset/xkcdLogo_transparent.png , i.e. "echochamber". Yes, I know, it was an April Fool's joke many years ago – that's why I don't get why it's still there. But this is a digression.)
