Re: Fleeting/Random Thoughts

To love is in a way a gift... an act of service if you want to view it that way. And if you feel you don't have enough on your own, you aren't going to be able to part with it for another's benefit. At least not for long. It's like writing hot checks. Sooner or later it catches up with you. So the ...

Am I the only one who doesn't care about multiplayer? I loved the campaigns. Ditto. I was never that interested in multiplayer. I tried it, quickly grew bored with the normal settings. The only multiplayer that entertains me is the custom maps with entirely different goals, like archon tag and what...

I went to a funeral earlier today for someone I hadn't seen in about 5 years. It turns out he was an xkcd fan; there was a board with a bunch of photographs and these comics.

So I just found out that someone I knew several years ago is dead. We were never close; I knew his sister well, and he would be around when I was visiting her, so we'd exchange a few words. Over time, this sort of thing allows you to get a sense for what someone is like... Ultimately, it's just baff...

Re: Confessional Thread - Nobody expects the modly inquisition

Background: I was hanging out in my friends' suite doing quantum mechanics until 5:30 AM, after they'd gone to bed. Since I may not see them again until after winter break, I left a message saying "goodnight" on the whiteboard.
Confession: I put a bar over the h.

Story Resistance? Arms? I think I'm missing something. This is clearly a reference to Ohm's law. Someone with longer arms will have a slightly greater resistance from hand to hand. Of course, this is assuming a constant resistivity for the material in question, and since people are made of a rather...

FT: I often say "warg" in my head when I mean "aarg." I do many other word substitutions in my head that I never actually vocalize. "Excellent" sometimes becomes "egg-cellent" or even "egg-salad" even though egg salad is not all that excellent.

The overwhelming majority of my t-shirts bear some sort of band logo. Many of these have fallen into disfavor because they are either in poor condition, ill-fitting, or represent a band I don't listen to much anymore. So by an approximate count, I have 20-30. I count 13 in my drawers and on my body,...
