Re: Dark567's Theory of Evolutionary Moral Nihilism[Philosop

But what does a moral built into the fabric of the universe look like? That's the point I've been raising. If we can't answer that, even theoretically, then I don't believe your question even has a yes or no answer. It's like asking if fizzywizzes are built into the universe. What it looks like is ...

Re: Right to die.

The importance of consent should not be dismissed. The ability to make the decision at all is a function of self awareness. The ability to give consent recognizes that fact. I only find the presence of outsiders in the act to be problematic. Anything which removes the choice from the person at the f...

As for one , as for all. If Texas could succeed than any state could. Is that good or bad, well it's hard to say. But it's like jumping out of an airplane. Once you leap you will get to the ground but if everything doesn't go as planned you can't get back into the plane.

When you remove all the trappings associated with the question. What it comes down to is the question of whether morals are built into the fabric of the universe or not. The question is simple in and of itself. I don't have to provide a complex rational for it, I simply ask the question. The only an...

Handling a material at that temperature implies risks other than combustion. Liquid! Of course liquid. Why not liquid? It's safer than gasoline and can be pumped in to fill a ~300 mile fuel tank on your average car in a minute or two similar to gasoline. There's also some natural synergy with renewable energy sources. You can make hydrogen when it's windy/sunny/the tide's c...

Essentially we agree on weight.
