Have you played Rimworld? I've seen it streamed a handful of times, and it looks really interesting. I haven't tried it myself though.

Re: Final Fantasy Omnithread - All FF, all the time.

I respectfully disagree with pretty much everything you just said. However, I'm not sure this is the thread or the place to go into a discussion about it. I think the mod's forum is the correct place for that discussion, and my positions would probably similarly echo what was in your thread there. O...

Re: Older Games

But SNES/PS1 was not the foundation of the RPG or even the JRPG. There was a lot of stuff for the original nintendo and early PC that was very popular, influential, and still playable. PC had bard's tale and ultima and things like TES: Arena (lots of games like that existed). The nintendo had Drago...

Re: Older Games

I was an avid SNES player as a kid. As I grew older, I set it aside and was mostly interested in emulators if I was going to play SNES games. I set it so far aside that pretty much everything I owned as a kid has since been lost or stolen. Over the past year I've spent enough money on getting a prop...

Re: Diablo III

The DH changes made a lot more weapons viable for use. It seems attack speed isn't nearly as important for turret builds (and Taskers is no longer BiS or even useful). Dual weapon setups are viable (Danetta's) as are huge damage 2h crossbows + rucksack. CDR affects the reload time on Turrets, so tha...

Re: Older Games

I've often found myself referring to the SNES to PS1 era as a "golden age of rpgs". This time frame, to me, ranges roughly from 1991 (Final Fantasy II US) to 2000 (Final Fantasy IX). Granted there's some great RPGs before and after that time, and there's been some really good PS2 / PS3 RPG...

Re: Diablo III

I started a season character to play with a twitch streamer that I enjoy and got up to speed pretty fast. The last piece of Marauders was a PITA to get, but i did finally get it. From 0 paragon to 6p Marauders and ~100 paragon in about 12 hours of play during the double exp weekend. Took a lot longe...

Re: 2014 in review

Dark Souls 2: The launch was much hyped, and while I enjoyed my blind run of it, I grew bored of it rather rapidly after that. I personally felt like Miyazaki's influence was incredibly missed and I felt like they really dropped the ball on a couple of areas that I wanted to play. Particularly Pyro...

If you were only going to play one, I think I'd say Dark Souls 1.

Demons Souls is very very good, but it lacks some of the polish that Dark Souls 1 had.

Re: Diablo III

So regular Rifts and Bounties are the way to go to hunt for equipment, outside of legendary gems then. Good to know. I'll shift my focus back to those, rather than doing Greater Rifts. I guess the goal is to get to where you can handle T6 stuff so you get those 100% drop rates? I'm wondering what th...

Re: Dork Soulds

They finally patched GFWL out of Dark Souls on the Steam version. I'm not sure if they've done anything else, but I've already been hearing of increased performance with load times and such. Has anyone gotten a chance to see what the multiplayer is like? I just migrated my save data over last night....

Re: Diablo III

I'd be up for that sometime. I've been able to (barely) finish level 16 rifts (grifts?) solo, and generally have been doing normal stuff on Torment 1 as that seems to be a comfortable place for my current dps/gear level. Still missing a lot of stuff for the DH build I'm running, but so far it's been...

Re: Diablo III

So I finally grabbed Reaper of Souls and played it this weekend. Probably the most I've enjoyed D3 since its release. I've managed to fully upgrade all of my items and even gotten a few legendaries that I particularly hoped I would get (SoJ, the ball lightning quiver). I'm still tinkering with rifts...

I will share nothing! That doesn't mean we can't start another game. In fact it's rather amusing to run games concurrently. Although...often times it just ends up bleeding together so I'm not suggesting we do that.

Absolutely. A big part of the early game is managing your party and using row/defend and proper equipment setups. Defensive stats and physical evasion are all useful and valuable, and relics like the Black Belt and the Power Glove are incredibly useful. Another thing that took me awhile to get a gra...

The question of the legality of the mod had never actually occurred to me, and I've tried to make sure I'm familiar with rule #7C. I suppose had I thought a little longer about it, I'd have PM'd you about it before posting. Sorry about that. Frankly, you don't need any previous experience with FF6 t...
