Yes you, but I think I was projecting a lot onto you from what I've seen elsewhere on here. So, a bit of irony and shame.

At this point, actually, I don't know where I stand on the political spectrum. Everything is so screwy these days.

Re: 2018 Midterm Elections Coverage

I think most of this amounts to, well, I'm not sure I have the proper word for it. Living in a fantasy, obsessed with some hopeful outcome in a borderline sexual manner, ignoring all alternative interpretations or evidence to the contrary? There has to be a good word for that. "Wankery"? D...

Re: Trump presidency

What's scary to me is what do you define as a "new" use? Asbestos was used for insulation, and used to wrap wires, but is an asbestos sheet with built in wiring now a "new" use if combining two prior tasks is "innovation"?

Re: Trump presidency

Snopes take on it. Currently banned uses will remain banned, but new uses may be permitted. So you can't use asbestos to insulate your home or filter your cigarettes, but you might be able to use asbestos to, IDK, make coffee cups out of.

I think he is assuming that there would be fewer survivors. That's... not really true. The city of Hiroshima had a population of 350,000 prior to the bombing, meaning that the bomb only killed 1/8 near-instantly and another 1/8 in lengths of time anywhere from hours to weeks. Granted that nukes are ...

I would hazard a guess that the child inherits a credit and has to pay tax on that. The capitol itself should've been relocated, but wasn't because, well, no one in 1955 seriously thought the war would still be going on in 2018. Had the capitol been relocated then, Seoul itself wouldn't have grown as much as it has. And no, I don't believe it's an easy feat to relocate a city, just...

That reminds me of something we had in school, during the looming housing crisis. A lot of banks were renegotiating with home-owners to forgive the debt, because the bank would rather have a guaranteed $150,000 instead of a less likely $200,000. The problem was that for tax purposes, that was a $50,...

I don't think a wall actually needs to be that high to trap CO2. CO2 is a very heavy gas, so I'm guessing a couple KM high wall would be enough to effectively prevent most of the American CO2 from escaping. Methane, however, is much lighter and does decay into safer CO2 in the upper atmosphere, so I...
