Re: What were your dreams last night?

I dreamed I was raising a kid on a ranch in the desert, and a random guy kept coming by and asking if he could shoot on my property, and I said "Maybe occasionally, but I can't have you doing it every day, or when I'm not around. Maybe a couple times a month, or once a week at most, and you hav...

Re: First Tesla Autopilot Death

When the deaths of bombing approach 1% of road deaths, Ill start being concerned about it. Lets focus on the people dying? Road deaths are somewhat evenly distributed. Bombing deaths will target specific groups. The political consequences of car accident deaths are non-existent, while the political...

Re: First Tesla Autopilot Death

As has been pointed out control is an illusion. I've been rear ended three times while stopped at a light. It was really kind of amusing, one second you're sitting there and the next you're sitting somewhere else, with no perceived interval. This is why you leave yourself space/an escape route when...

You know, it's really interesting how that's not an argument? Also, it's she/her Also, for all the benefits of a new technology, you certainly aren't noticing the downsides. And I don't see that it's a weakness because I don't see what I lose. It's a weakness because statistically, you're wrong. Perceived risk is a far cry from actual risk. But that has nothing to do with my reasoning. I don't want to die to a mistake a human being wouldn't make. I also don't want to d...

Just the thought of not having control over the matter of my own life or death, is suffocating. I take it you don't fly in aeroplanes? I mean when you're not the pilot, the one in control. I'd rather be the one making decisions in a dangerous situation than be at the complete mercy of a system that generally makes good decisions. Nothing will ever change this for me. I dreamt a really bad movie that was like a combination of Buckaroo Bonzai, John Carter, and an 80's sports movie. The underdog football team just got pranked by the evil rival football team. Dejected, the main character wandered offscreen, and accidentally wound up in a different dimension filled w...

I was having a lot of intense dreams and so I thought of the name dreamcatcher, but I... I dunno. I like cyberpunk, so I spelled it in 13375p34k? My dreams felt really magical so it was a sort of obtuse nod to shadowrun, which I like a lot. I don't know if that makes any sense.

In most states the mental health requirement is so lax that you can literally have been institutionalized at some point and still buy a gun. I personally hear a voice in my head and still own guns. It's weird though that there's less recourse for getting rights restored as far as mental illness goes...
