See, biologists know how to make sense! You don't have to know what crossing-over means to understand what the Dunce gene does.

GOG.com is having a spring sale that is still on for a few days. Discounts on Beyond Good and Evil, Fallout, Myst, Evil Genius and six other games. If you previously thought that these games were too expensive (maybe because you are a hobo) then this is your chance!

Wait a second... A flatlander lives on a flat plane, so it sees other flat objects on the plane as lines. But the legs of the xkcdian are made out of one-dimensional lines that stand on the plane, extending into the third dimension. So this means the xkcdian is invisible to the flatlander. What that...

I've been checking Impulse out, but they have surprisingly little to offer, for me at least. The multiplayer is actually surprisingly good. Any match with more than six people in it will lag horribly, plasmids won't charge and automatic weapons won't keep firing, but there is a workaround for this: Alt-Tab out and back in the Bioshock window, for some reason this makes it run well again. I ...

There's a fun little easter egg in Bio 2. In a frozen area with a lot of SMG turrets and cameras, you can use Incinerate to melt the patches of ice. Under one of the patches is a frozen cat named Schrödinger.

A spinning top

I noticed something odd today. When you spin a spinning top clockwise, the moment that the outer edge hits the surface and stops spinning, the whole top rolls counterclockwise. So it spins, it wobbles, it stops, and then it rolls in the other direction. Can anyone explain why it does this? I've got ...

Guys guys guys, STALKER: Call of Pripyat is out now on Steam. They have a Loyalty Promo, too, which means owning either of the previous STALKER games gives you a €$10 discount. And guess what? STALKER: Clear Sky costs €$10, so if you buy that, you essentially get two games for the price of one.
