Re: Explain me this. (Light)

Ah, that I didn't know. I was thinking along the lines of anti-sound, where sound is silenced with its counterphase part. In this example you have two opposing directional forces with a net effect of zero, where the kinetic energy is converted into heat, like it would when stopping anything with mom...

Explain me this. (Light)

Light, as a wave, can amplify or extinguish other light waves when they meet in phase or in counterphase. What I don't get is: Where does the energy go when two waves extinguish each other?

Re: Pokemon HeartGold/Soul Silver Announced

I lost interest in the Pokémon games when the count of 'em broke 400. That's why these remakes are more interesting to me. Not that I'd be caught alive paying money for it, though.

Re: What were your dreams last night?

I was in a plane crash. A very gentle plane crash. Also, it was war. There were Wright Brothers fighter airplanes flying over the site where my plane crashed. They were made of cloth and wood. One of them crashed into the plane, and caught fire. By that time I thought it was a good idea to get out. ...

Re: Resources for getting away from everything? I mean every.

If you have it as bad as you say, those compulsions could have a good reason to them. When getting away is a must, but returning is even more tedious than never having gone in the first place, then you could ask yourself if going away forever is a real possibility. The question there is, is whether ...

Re: Do you read the instruction booklet?

I do! I treasure my little instruction booklets. Me and my dad have always been FPS players, and in most of those booklets you always get a little backstory, starting help (like certain key combinations or tricks that don't get addressed in the tutorial), and sometimes descriptions of the enemies an...

God, this thread brings back so many memories, I must have been playing that game for at least a year. How old was I, eight? Deus Ex is one of the reasons I never ever needed a lesson in English again.

That's it, I'm going to get this RIGHT NOW.

Re: Opera, Chrome, Firefox, OR?

For a long time, I wasn't actually aware that there were other browsers than IE to be used. When I did, I was still too lazy to try Firefox or something. Then I heard about Chrome and switched to that, and I like it a whole lot better than IE or Opera. The only thing I miss is the smooth scrolling t...

This could have been good, I guess. But it was bad. It may well have been the worst xkcd I have ever read.
