Hmmm, it's a lot better now, but pulling back the color on that background even more wouldn't hurt. It's not that the background is bad, but remember a background has to work with the site; I thought it was more eye-catching than the comic itself, and the comic should be THE most eye-catching thing ...

The first question before we can get a rainbow is whether or not we can get the 7 main colors. We haven't yet answered that.

I'm sure it'd be possible if you could get some indigestible food coloring, though.

The new background is far too distracting. It grabbed my attention much more quickly than the comic itself did. You should probably change the background (maybe make it paler) so that it is less obvious.

A physical planner may be unnecessary if you have a laptop attached to your hip at all times. I don't use a paper planner anymore. If I don't have my laptop I usually have my iPod Touch to jot down a few notes into if necessary.

Welcome to the xkcd fora! Actually, my Wacom Bamboo "Fun" Tablet has a surface that makes it feel like writing on paper, but this tablet is not also a display or a computer, it's just the writing surface/input. If you want something that feels like paper AND you can see what you're writing...

Go ahead and take calc 3. You'll do just fine. I'm honestly not worried about failing or not doing well in Calc 3. I'd probably ace the course without a problem; I'd just like a better understanding of many of the concepts in Calc 2, since we rushed through them in class and I never study Calculus ...

I agree, sitting in front of the paper is the hardest way to conceive new ideas. I've found that writing/planning a comic and drawing a comic are two very different things. I definitely hold my pencil incorrectly, but as far as alternative grips go it's probably pretty close to approximating the "proper" way. However, I fold my thumb in so it tucks under my index finger and so the thumb wraps around the pencil more. While this gives me a better grip then simp...
