I would rather just have a few of us fight it on level ground outside. You need to be using highly enchanted diamond armor and have potions and enchanted weapons, but it's not like it's going to wander off. And anyway, there's no such thing as a safe enclosure for a wither. Not even obsidian. The ri...

It's currently 6:52 AM on the east coast of the US. Having trouble getting started with a language

Every few months or so, I revisit a language I want to learn (Swedish in this case), and I always run into the same problem. I want to be able to learn vocabulary and grammar by context, by reading text in the new language, watching and participating in conversations, that sort of thing. I look at h...

Re: Screechings of the Great Unwashed (Meander to the Morgue

You don't need to know how to solder to use an Arduino. You can do it the breadboard way, though it won't be as shiny. If you're going to be working with motors and sensors, you're probably going to want the low level stuff. But no, you're probably not going to get anything as easy as the Mindstorms...

Typically for that sort of thing, the power doesn't come from the controller. Even for small things, it's just too much power draw, way more than electronics need. A Raspberry Pi would work but possibly overkill. Maybe look into Arduino stuff?

"traditional values" don't actually mean that those people care about traditions. That phrase is meant to hide what it really is, because if they said flat out what it meant, they wouldn't get anywhere. It's like the term "pro-life" almost.

I think the terrace should be around 30 blocks lower, does that sound good? Also, speaking of those ores, a very small quantity is going towards enchanting tools and such. That helps the entire project and keeps us from having to stop to go mining. But yeah, I love that idea Rirez. Make it sparkle! :D
