Sprocket, that definitely looks interesting, but it looks logistically difficult. Are there usually a bunch of forum people there, or just a few? I can definitely try to get there, but it will take a little bit of work. Your post says the third Friday -- has it been moved to the 11th because of PAX ...

I think there are two lines of thinking: the short term thinkers believe they are entitled to a cut, the long term thinkers are worried that other auto manufacturers might cut out the middleman as well. If GM, Ford, and Toyota decided the model was successful, they would lose out on a huge amount o...

I decided this morning that I had gotten enough off of it, so I returned it to my campus computer store on warranty for a free replacement. I was considering trying the freezer thing, but my overwhelming desire to play games on steam won out.
Thanks for the tip, though!

Sunlight at Earth's surface is about 1000 W/m^2. Halve due to angle losses, halve again due to the night period, and you've got 250 W of 24-hour-average sunlight available per meter. 20% efficiency is pretty good for photovoltaics, so that's 50 W of electrical power per square meter of photovoltaic...
