Re: Papers, Please

Whether or not passports should list sex and, if so, which interpretation should be used, is beyond the scope of a game of this nature. Why? I mean, given this is 1980s Eastern-Europe expys, why would they have a body scanner in place at all? You don't think it has any bearing at all that the inter...

How do you know?

And more importantly does it matter? No one knows your motives but you. From the victim's side, an empty threat and a real one look the same.

Well, obviously that's a personal thing, but to me anything inside a quote melts down to text for me, beyond the format specifier. By that point I just go "Yup, that's a string." It seems to me that it's only a problem for you because you aren't used to it. If you aren't used to it, use a...

Re: Coding: Fleeting Thoughts

1) You're mixing in your variable names with the string inside quotation marks, which could be very confusing to read. I know this would be a simple IDE fix (hell, I can do something to fix that in vimrc if I wanted), but without that it looks confusing. I think that when thinking of cleanliness, y...

There's a setting for "Easy Mode" which gives you +20 credits per day. This effectively allows you to screw up more often without changing the actual difficulty of the gameplay (about 4 more times I think?)

The second goal is cleanliness, which I think that syntax is much cleaner than printf or streams. I don't think that looks cleaner, for two reasons: 1) You're mixing in your variable names with the string inside quotation marks, which could be very confusing to read. I paid £7 for about 20 hours game play so far, but the core game mechanics are pretty monotonous (indeed that's kinda the point.) I think it was worth it, but if you're unsure I'd happily tell you to pick it up elsewhere or sit on it a while.

No, but that doesn't preclude us from criticising the game for being any or all of those things. They don't even stop us playing them. Tropes are not bad, they don't preclude us from enjoying something, it's just disappointing to see over and over again. I'm saying this only semi-seriously, but thi...

In a regular ranked game, though, a team that was losing that hard by 20 minutes would normally fall apart and might well just surrender. True, but even presuming you're going to use your team as bait/CC soak and nothing more, you'd wait for the engage and pounce on the squishies before pouncing away. A couple of points about carrying and winning and such: - Some champs can carry much harder than others if you are skilled with them, I.e. a 8-0 fizz if much much scarier than an 8-0 Kassadin.
