I am now using GIMP. It'll take a lot of getting used to but should mean a much faster update speed.

I'm keeping track of both kills and deaths. The score is the amount of kills- the amount of deaths.

Respawns happen at the end of the turn. All the units that died that turn will be placed back where they were on turn 1. If where they were isn't free, than they will remain off of the board until the space they were at turn one is available.

Any system that doesn't value deaths and kills equally could be cheated by two players who continually exchange troops.

It makes it simpler. And I like the idea that there could be a player in joint 1st vs a player in 3rd who only has a ninja. And if the ninja takes out the player he will lose.

If a unit dies I'll put it back where it initially was at the start of the game immediately.

The game will end at turn 40, player with most kills wins.

How about up to 10? Seeing as it took 60 turns for people to get to 8 in this game. I imagine kills will be got a lot faster with more pieces. So I'd predict about 30 turns for a 10 kill-cap. Oh, I like how that sounds! Would that require playing to a set amount of kills, like, 10 or something? Yeah, that could work. To keep matches interesting we could give respawns, meaning that x number of units of each team must be on the field at any time. If your unit gets killed it will reappear back at your home base.
